¡Conman - "The Physio"!;2907198 said:
True, and Mike G...

Hodgy Beats' verse in this is good but his solo work sounds very disjointed...

At last US hip hop is back and more foul mouthed than ever.
Love this track from Schoolboy Q, decent albums from Childish Gambino & ASAP rocky recently.

Also i feelasthough i may as well pass my judgement of Tyler The Creator, he may be a dick, his music may be a little weak (i do like hi-hop the new Death Grips album is pretty mind blowing!) but i do admire how he is just completely crazy and i love how he presents himself in interviews! Its refreshing to get anyone big on the music scene who is bonkers and really works the media.

My mom's gone, that ****in' broad will never understand me
I'm not gay, I just wanna boogie to some Marvin
(What you think of Hayley Williams?) **** her, Wolf Haley robbin' 'em
I'll crash that ****in' airplane that ***got nigga B.o.B is in
And stab Bruno Mars in his goddamn esophagus
And won't stop until the cops come in

Crazy, or just unnecessarily mean?

Hooooouussseee Music!

Praise to St Godders!!! Some proper music!!

Love the Bukka track - the version I have on "Po' Boy" is a field recording when he was in the pen for murder! The sound quality is poor so it is brilliant to hear (and see this ) version. Amazing to actuially see how those sounds are made. I believe the slide was first used by black soldiers in WW1 as a consequence of the guitars being warped in the trench conditions and a knife edge was used to produce the alteration of the tone which masked the fact that the guitar's couldn't stay in tune.

The Blind Willie Johnson tribute is fabulous. I've never be convinced by BWJ as it voice grates very quickly. Must prefer Blind Lemon Jefferson whose makes the hairs stand up at the back of your neck. Always likes this number even if it is much lighter than much of his material:-

I wasn't really talking about his lyrical content.... I don't really like his music much

But Marvian Gaye >>>> Paramore/B.o.B/Bruno Mars :L

however... I guessed that the meaning of that part is about how he thinks current chart hits are tripe (well they are) amd how his mum didn't let him listen to Marvin Gaye or something? (again im not a big fan or whatever, and i do think im overthinking this!)

Still... even if i don't like it, i rather there was a artist making songs that expressed a feeling they have personally (even if it is a little disturbing and messed up), then the average happy go lucky love song/ pop balled/ feel good meaningless floor filler.

Now I'm going to give myself depression listening to this song and go to sleep.

Don't think you're likely to find a Paramore song which disses Tyler (or anyone for that matter). It's just an extremely childish way of writing lyrics.

Blind Willie McTell:-

Love this song and find the lyrics particularly sad.

I don;t think you understand what I was trying to get across :/

Hell... I agree with you, it is pretty childish/sleazy uninspired.

Godders

Not checked out too much Son House although I am familiar with the track.

Have you ever heard this version by Cassandra Wilson (she often covers blues material and this particular album is a gem. Robert Johnson's "32-20" is also on this disc. (I think the tune was originally a Skip James composition but can;t recall the name.) There was a follow up album called "Belly of the moon" whicb is equally impressive.)

Had a "magic" smoke and listened to this album... in celebration of finishing a load of coursework!

Have you ever watched the documentary 'DiG!'? It's like a real life Spinal Tap, tracks the contrasting careers of The Dandy Warhols and The Brian Jonestown Massacre - friends at the start, deep resentment by the end. I'm a huge Dany Warhols fan but I do like the BJM. It's absolutely fantastic, being both hilarious and tragic at the same time (Anton from The BJM has some serious issues). I can't recommend it enough, even if you haven't heard of either band. It's just a stark insight into the life of up-and-coming rockstars.

It would make sense to get the album this trackis one if you liked it :L which is "Their Satanic Majesties' Second Request". The band (well songwriter) is fully aware that he is essentially ripping off sounds of other bands and even songs themselves, hence the name of that album being both a pun and a tribute to the (only?) awesome album by The Rolling Stones "Their Satanic Majesties Request".

I would say its the best album they have made... but they have so many and they are pretty consistent!

I'd second this. Great band. That and Strung Out In Heaven are great starting places, but hard to go wrong on most of their records.

Their Satanic Majesties... also opens (and closes) with this gem...

Please listen to and read The Story of the Blues by Paul Oliver in which he explains the roots of the slide guitar.
