If it rained just before Seb pitted I would of rated it an 11/10, sadly it didn't happen to give him a 18 second lead over the rest. I bet some of you here held your breath when it looked like Seb was about to take the lead because of rain lol.
I thought he was going to take the lead anyway, if his tyres had held on for 2 more laps, he probably would have won that race.
much like this I was insulted twice before retaliating, I got banned for 2 days, he got perma ban. Maybe you should take notice.
Overtaking a Caterham was possible, just very difficult. He was unlucky at the start but should have passed Kovalainen in the first few laps - from there he would have joined the big queue behind Raikkonen and when they all pitted, he should have done what Vettel and Di Resta did and jump a few of them. For the first half of the race, Button couldn't even get within a second of Kovalainen. Then Kovalainen pitted and Button couldn't do what Vettel was doing at the time. When he came out of the pits he was still behind Kovalainen with tyres several laps fresher - and yet he still couldn't overtake. Kovalainen was defending aggressively, but so was Di Grassi in 2010 vs Alonso and it didn't take Alonso long to get past. Overtaking was possible, Perez did it. Button was just slow.
Marrussia =/= Caterham, much slower even then Perez he only passed when the Marrusia cut the chicane and had to yield IIRC. Raikkonen was so slow, he was actually holding up Heikki at one point while Fastest man on saturday in Schumacher couldn't pass. It wasn't a pace thing. All the way through the grid that was happening. That was the only overtake for a reason. The Caterham had better traction and Heikki placed it well. Very little Jenson could do The comparison to Vettel is also void because Button did not have the same circumstances, namely the Torro Rosso of Ricciardo that continued to hold him up after Kovalainen pitted, That also why Button backed off Kova at the start. To keep the tyres in shape for the run in clean air he never got.
Fair enough, didn't realise he had traffic after Kovalainen pitted, but overtaking was still possible especially against a Caterham. Perez overtook Vergne, Glock and Kovalainen without too much difficulty. Button just needed to be brave and go for it.
Button tried to pass Kovalainen a few times but Kovalainen cut the chicane to stay ahead of him a couple of times and another time he forced Button into a wall that gave him a puncture.
