My house.
May aswell have one, I keep seeing England bits here and there, so lets tidy them up onto one thread....I wonder if it will get past one page! :)

MFer Barry out injured, replaced by defender Phil Jagielka...good start!

So as defensive midfield players we have Parker with an achilles problem and Phil Jones? The cup's in the bag I'd say.

There is a forum for the Euros if anyone's interested - http://www.not606.com/forumdisplay.php/177-Euro-2012 - but you're more than welcome to discuss the Euros here with such a superior group of fans :)

I'm going to watch the Panorama on the stadiums a bit later. If anyone else missed it and is interested it's on the iPlayer http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b01jk4vr/Panorama_Euro_2012_Stadiums_of_Hate/

Ah hah!, I've just done a separate thread urging who missed it to do this....so I'm going to steal your link! :D <ok>

I didn't know about the other thread as I don't really venture away from our board, but if everyone prefers the other one...**** off then! :D

Am I the only one who can't see the appeal of Phil Jones? Enthusiastic and a hard-worker (oh.... that's why Roy likes him) but he has the vision of Stevie Wonder, the touch of an elephant and the defending abilities of the French military circa 1940. Every now and then he makes a blinding run upfield and this apparently makes him the future for England. Just don't see it.

But then Downing is making it as a professional footballer so why not........

I don't think England will get out of the group personally.

No Rooney for the 1st 2 games, the midfield looks shocking, the goalkeeper and defence is good though so I see 3 low scoring games with probably a narrow defeat to France and two 0-0 draws with Sweden and Ukraine.

Would love to be wrong though.

No worries. I just wanted to let people know the Euros forum existed as I know most of us don't stray from the Tottenham or Premier League boards, I'll probably be posting about Euros on both forums.

So, whats the general consensus among English fans as regards your chances? How far do you think you'll go?

No idea. The squad doesn't fill me with confidence but there's a lot to be said for the lack of pressure on us to get anywhere.

I still think the expectation should be for us to qualify from our group and I don't think anyone should escape criticism if we don't.

I think we will get out of our group, but go home as soon as we meet Spain, Holland, Germany or Portugal. Haven't looked at draw options so not sure when that will be.

Ok, looked it up. If we win the group could meet Italy or Croatia (poss ROI). Should get through that. If we are runners up, we'll probably meet Spain, so that'll be good night. All in all, a semi final is not impossible. France will be the challenge, but they are not where they were 10 years ago and are beatable. Some great players though.

What if we wear our red strip for all our games and we request Howard Webb to ref them. :)

If we win our group, we will play second in Group C (so Italy or Croatia probably). If we come second, we have the Group C winners in the quarters, so probably Spain.

Edit: Just seen your other post <doh>
