What do you reason the 25 man squad will be? How many will we sign? (not including U21s) 1.Davis 2.Butterfield 3.Richardson 4.Hooiveld 5.Fonte 6.Martin 7.Harding 8.Fox 9.Chaplow 10.Do Prado 11.Hammond 12.Cork 13.Schneiderlin 14.Lallana 15.De Ridder 16.Puncheon 17.Sharp 18.Lambert 19.Lee 20. 21. 22. 23. 24. 25. I reckon the following will leave: Seabourne Forte Forecast Dickson Barnard
I think Butterfield will be in the squad on the basis of his experience and his run of form towards the end of last season, also Nicola and Nige would struggle replacing a whole squad!
Add Harding, Butterfield & Puncheon to the "Leave" list and I think we can see the scale of our issue
Looks about right, but I am expecting Puncheon to be sold, and maybe Seaborne will just about make the cut.
If substantial rumours are anything to go by, they're having a good go at it though. I've a sneeky feeling one could add Puncheon to OWTS's leaving list, and be confident it would come true.
Do you think it might be quite an ask mixing in 7 new players at the start of one of our most important seasons in recent years though? Also from that is is clear we need a new GK, CB, CM and possibly an extra striker- but what other positions do you think they will go for?
1.Davis 2.Butterfield 3.Richardson 4.Hooiveld 5.Fonte 6. 7. 8.Fox 9.Chaplow 9. 10.Do Prado 11. 12.Cork 13.Schneiderlin 14.Lallana 15. 16.Lee 17.Sharp 18.Lambert 19. 20. 21. 22. 23. 24. 25. That is it for me.
Well, not many teams fill their 25 man allocation (possibly none did?), so I don't think we will be going on a mass spending spree. I think Seaborne will stay but probably not be in the squad, Barnard and Puncheon I do not know. Apart from that though it looks like all but the absolute fringe of our squad will be involved and with enough space for the necessary additions, and that puts us in a really good position.
With Jay Rod rumours gathering pace, it looks like our front 4 could be set; Lambert Sharp Rodriguez Lee I would like to think at least 2 of those are capable of double figures for a season. With Do Prado as back up it looks like Barnard might be sent on loan. Chaplow might be going the other way so a right midfielder & Goalkeeper must be the main transfer priorities.
Super Kelv needs a back up or possibly a replacement, but I would rather see Kelv as number 1 being the longest serving player we now have at the club
Rodriguez does look set to sign for about £7 million But the big question is, how much with Cortese allow for the other 5 players?! They can't all be signings of a similar level as £42 million would seem slightly excessive for a premiership new comer! Although saying that we do have the financial backing and in winning promotion gained in excess of £90 million.
I reckon we will make 1 or 2 expensive signings and 3-4 players we've never thought of who turn out to be little gems. We need a young, talented GK who can push SKD. We don't want just a back up...the new GK must be number one in waiting.
