I'd pay Chamberlain money for him, however regardless of money united will be the bigger draw for both the player and the club.

For me it's not a money question, I just don't think Nigel and Nic will want to bring in a young player who will be so blatantly treading on the toes of our own youngsters (ie JWP). Perhaps he will turn into a better player but it doesn't seem to be the Southampton way to me. Anyway I don't know anything about this guy except he has filled some column inches recently.

Wasn't that impressive in the semi. I agree with Qwerty we have our own talent.

I would pay upto 8 million for him, I know that would be well over the highest amount paid for a League 2 player, normally you would not pay over 1 million for a player at that level even if they are young and talented but with Powell that is different as he is extra special, normally clubs try to get young players from clubs like Crewe for low fees like 200k to 400k.
I think you should try and get him as he will play for England in the next 2 years at the rate he is going, he is the one to watch.

I think he is worth it, that is the highest I would pay, would aim between 3-4 million.

No way is he ever worth £8m. Seen him a few times and he has done sod all different from any other L2 journeyman.

Yes he is a good youngster but the prices being touted are so stupid.

I agree with Hoadie on this one. I've been watching him all season, and I think he's the most talented teenager in the country. We're talking the next Steven Gerrard here.

I was going to say he is going to be the new Lampard as he is more of a scorer.

Nick Powell in 3 games against Southend. Obviously not enough to judge him on, but from those 3, he did nothing particularly impressive.

WE would be paying for his undoubted potential but who can say we haven't laready got his equal or better in the Acacdemy.

We don't really have anyone in his position. Ward-Prowse is probably closest, but I think he would play deeper.

We have a lad called George Mells who is meant to be quite good and is an attacking midfielder who I think is due to come through this season. An unknown quantity though. Don't think they use a regular sitting midfielder in the youth. I think 1 of the 3 tempporarily covers while the other 2 express themselves. Quite right too, get too used to defensive midfield and you turn into Gareth Barry or god forbid Paul Wotton.
