Posted a response on Twitter to James Nursey from The Mirror after saying that FA would never select an ex tyre fitter. And this is what he replied back to me.
Would there really be any image problems in Roy selected Holty. Fair enough he was an ex tyre fitter but the faitytale story is the tyre fitter is now a Premier League footballer with 15 goals in his debut season.

He caused a number of very good defenders in the league last season a lot of problems. Can remember a Mr. John Terry struggling against him at Stamford Bridge last season. He doesn't have all the goods that the top strikers have but with the attributes he has he does use them to their full.

Andy Carroll is better than him, and that's saying something.
If you really believe the England squad was picked on who was the most 'marketable' I fear for your sanity.
Although Carroll hasn't had the best of seasons due to the show of **** thats playing around him there is something about him.
But even so, you can't deny that even if Holt was given one opportunity to play in a friendly for England he would work his arse off.
Who's going to sell more England ****e, Andy Carroll or grant holt? It's not the only reason of course, there's obviously the Inbuilt ignorance and stupidity of the FA in general which is a big stumbling block.
Holt is a good player. As are Lambert, Graham etc etc. The reason they aren't in the squad is quite simply because Capello didn't use them. The only player in the squad that wasn't there before was Alex Chamberlain and he was the calculated gamble given his age.
Neither of them are going to sell any England ****e. They're going to play football, and Carroll is better at that than Holt.
The FA didn't pick the squad either.

And don't kid yourself buddy. Carroll is heskey 2.0 and you know it, holts a god next to him and I'm not guna let some brummie wind me up about it lol
Carroll is world class! The only reason he did not get 30+ goals this season is because he was in a poor team. Holt got really lucky this season with his goals, there is no way the fact he scored 11 more than Carroll makes him a better player. Theres something about Carroll that makes him world class (no ones worker out what it is yet though, but its there).
