..... to play Ipswich Town in a pre-season game:

'Colchester United to host Ipswich on 8th August 2012 @ 19.45'

I would have expected them to take up a bigger challenge, but a confidence-boosting win can never be a bad thing.

Last time I was at Colchester was enjoyable but frustrating as I was sat with the Colchester fans so couldn't celebrate in the way a 5-0 win should be celebrated.

I went to the loo just before KO and there were about 50 people in there and I recognised most in there, we were all giving a knowing nod of recognition.

The guy who single handedly tried to take the away end before endin flat on his face in a puddle was in the seats just behind us and was getting more and worked up as every goal scored was celebrated by a different group of Norwich Fans who were then escorted out of the ground, he spent most of the game giving the stewards grief about the amount of Norwich Fans that had got in the home end, I thought the stewards were very nice as they gave me a towel to dry my seat with when I arrived.
