This is exactly it- it took that sort of result from Worthington before the penny dropped and would take at least the same from Lambert. Even then, Lambert is so far ahead in terms of what he has done for this club I still think we'd be devastated to see him go. As you say, if he does go, I suspect it will be on his own terms.
This could come as famous last words and all that but i genuinely think Lambert isn't the sort of manager to EVER lose the dressing room. His personality and the respect players have for him i don't think it will ever happen. Reason i say that is i think that's what happened with worthy. I do like worthington though, he wasn't a bad manager and probably should get more credit then he gets. Tactics wise he was off sometimes but i think done more right then wrong over his whole reign at Norwich.
Yeah I think you're right. The only way Lambert would lose the dressing room is at a really big club with all the egos and then it wouldn't be a given thing. Ultimately, he was such a good player it would be difficult to see how anyone outside of the very top clubs could look at him with anything other than respect. Given that he's also the consummate professional and clearly has brilliant relationships with each player individually, I find it very difficult to believe that this will be where he falls short, if he ever does.
And as my -- not PL's, he's much too polite -- last word on the subject: Jesusjonny! Youse sleverin, ye glaikit teuchters.
Hi Dave, I'm sure I've read somewhere that they're not going on a pre season tour to Germany. Haven't heard anything about an alternative either.
