dunno, i've got a mate who follows tennis and he's just stuck fifty on it (why it came to mind). He's also got a bit of a gambling addiction though for 13/2 it's probably not a bad shout considering he beat djokovic recently in a final apparently (i only just looked that up by the way i didn't know the odds already)
Holloway has all the credentials. He has a good eye for talent e.g. signing Ince from Liverpool for £50k and now Everton are interested in him. Plays attacking football which would definitely excite even the KC. He also nearly kept Blackpool in the Prem on a tiny budget. Great manager! Hope we can get him!
Come on Percy, we all know there isn't a situation in which you'd rather have Pearson back. You pretty much despised him from the beginning.
Hardly a small budget, I can't recall where I read it, but I'm sure our budget put us in the top 10 for highest annual wage bill.
Brownie was on SSN giving his opinion on the De Matteo situation this very morning. He's honing his media skills once more, polishing them to perfection. He smells a kill, like a shark. A ruthless Tiger Shark concentrating on its prey. It's what he does, it's all he does. Brownie is coming home!!!!!
Kenny Dalglish Kevin Keegan Howard Kendall Tony Pulis is one of the only ones who's had success and look how much money he's spent! and before you say Walter Smith, Scotland doesn't count
Dalglish and Keegan were out the game for years though when they returned though, Brownie's been gone a few months. Huge difference. Also, as far as I'm aware all three resigned too, Brownie was sacked unfairly. He has a huge point to prove, and I'm confident that a large percentage of City fans would love to see him do it.
Hope so mate, think I'm getting a bet on it tomorrow/ today- OK he went crackers the last year or so but before that, some good stuff happened, why not. I noticed he is in the media a lot recently too so they must think he's good copy, why not let him have a go with us again rather than the likes of Lee Clark (not convinced)
I'd like to see him have another go for sure, as for the unfair sacking, well not totally sold on that one but they are linking managers with us that probably aren't up to it so why not let him have another go
just seen this mornings Greg Abbott article on the HDM website has been taken down. i couldn't see anything particularly inflammatory about it. am i reading for something into it that isn't there?
Bigfattiger you fail to understand its the HULL DAILY FAIL and therefore items appear and go away and come back so Please read nothing into that as its back up again. More reliable to get your news here LOL
You sure? http://www.thisishullandeastriding....-Greg-Abbott/story-16161758-detail/story.html doesn't work for me
Fair point, but to say Brown was sacked unfairly is opinion. Looking at his run upto his sacking it was pretty torrid, nearly anyone manager in the prem would have been sacked for a similiar run, so to say it was unfair is up for debate (for the record i didn't want him sacked at the time either, just giving an opposing view). Also the point that Browny has a huge point to prove is irrelevant, that's no reason to hire anyone as it should be based on ability. What ability has Browny shown since leaving? OK Preston was dead in the championship before he took over but in L1 he underperformed given the playing staff he had and again was sacked after a dire run of form. Lastly to say that you're confident a large percentage of city fans would love him do it is a complete guess (assuming by 'it' you mean return), if you'd put IMO at the end i might have mistaken you for Tickler. I think it's more likely to divide the fans than anything else IMO So given the examples then this is what we have, Keegan & Dalglish - both club legends out of the game for AGES and fail on their return Pulis - Stayed in the game and has success coming back (spending the type of money we can only dream of) Kendall - Returned twice, both times achieved nothing leading to resignation (but ok that was ****ing ages ago so pretty irrelevant) My verdict - give the job to the man who deserves it most based on what they've proven recently in their managerial careers. Browny therefore comes in as a contender but his Preston record and latter stages of his Hull record probably count against him too much. Clark, Abbott, Holloway & McCarthy all appear as better options and for me it's a case of getting one of them in if at all possible. Shame it won't be McCarthy or Ollie [NSFW]PS yes i only added Ollie because i knew it would piss you off [/NSFW]
I think its awesome that people still think they can present a case to persuade TWF that Brownie shouldnt come back to City. I dont get the Holloway thing either, I suspect that, thanks to the internet, people just throw all sorts of crap at something like this and hope some of it sticks. No wonder Lambert, who is usually schtum, came out today and told people to stfu speculating, he's happy where he is.
