Plenty of us, myself included, have laughed at Torres' bad form this season. Bit I feel that it is a shame when a great player can't fulfil what they're capable of. When he first left Liverpool I think most of us would agree that he was probably worth £50mill.

I can just about understand his frustrations at not starting the Champions League final as he was good when he came on despite playing on the wing.

Is that really the best picture the Beeb could find of an 'unhappy' Torres? <laugh>

I'd still have started Drogba ahead of him. If Drogba does leave, that could be his time to shine.

I think they can afford to give Drogba a two-year contract! He won't get too knackered, he spends a lot of his time "resting" on the pitch!

;)

Torres was outstanding when he came on but had a face like a smacked arse. He was diabolical until the last month or so so he can't have any arguments. It's a real lesson to work hard and give your best even when things aren't going your way.

I don't understand why Torres is surprised or hurt not to have started in the final, he's been crap for most of the season, what does he expect? He's a £50 million striker that scored just 6 league goals, 3 of which came in one game. Not good enough!

When Torres was at Liverpool, he looked a different player completey, I think most would agree there.
His problems was when he moved to Chelsea.
Let's rewind a few years. A certain player moved from us to Blackburn, and did really well there, forming a formidable partnershipwith Alan Shearer.
When he moved to Chelsea, what happened?
He then moved onto Celtic, and was suddenly a hero with their fans.

Coincidence?

Your views please....

They do seem to have a history where great strikers under perform, Shevchenko is another example

He then went on to Manage Lincoln City and has never been seen or heard of since....

Er, how about Flecky?

I actually don't think Torres has been anywhere near as bad as he's been made out this season to be honest. Ok he's not scored as many as he should, be I've seen him have some good games and he has got something like 20 assists and has been playing out of position pretty much all year.

torres has had problems down to chelsea's style of play more than anything. it doesn't take a genius to see he can't play the game in the same style as drogba yet they play in the same fashion when he is up top. he requires more intricate slide-rule balls and enjoys darting into the channels where he can turn and run. at chelsea they boot the ball at him with his back to goal. its similar with carroll at liverpool. if they played to his strengths he'd get his confidence back and suddenly he'd get back to his old self
