Tevez threw the first punch- If Barton had done the professional thing like Tevez and gone down rolling in agony it would have been Tevez walking and possibly a very different match and title winner. You're lucky it was Barton as the linesman some 40-50 yards away couldn't have possibly had a decent view, has seen it was Barton and put 2 and 2 together.

The bloke is obviously a mug but in terms of the the Tevez incident he was hard by given the linesman mysteriously saw one of two episodes of violent conduct.
