Wouldn't surprise me to see another keeper from abroad come in in all honesty.

But I know nothing of transfer targets. Now the issue of released lists have been dealt with by clubs I imagine in the next few weeks or so transfer negotiations may begin to materialise.

Wouldn't mind a Dutch keeper given their track record!

My choice would be Jack Butland from Birmingham, currently on the back-up team for the Euro's. Has plenty of potential and we have been linked with him recently, just got to stop the Manchester clubs from nicking him.

Or I would go for Thibault Courtois on loan from Chelsea, fantastic season at A.Madrid and Chelsea want him to have Prem experience, we could be that club to do that.

He's spending another season at Atletico Madrid.

Erwin Mulder -- Feyenoord's keeper -- looks like he might have a bright future ahead. Wikipedia seems to believe that he is out of contract this summer as well, but I haven't the foggiest whether he has re-signed since. Nor whether he'd want to go from first choice with the second-best team in the Eredivisie to battling for the job on a newly-promoted Prem team. But he's Dutch, dammit, and that's all that matters.

I'd regfer someone old but solid as 2nd choice. Useful when called upon, but someone who doesn't mind warming the bench. Younger keepers should be out playing football and benefitting from the experience.

So Bart and Dovey are gone and we now have Forecast as back up. Who should we bring in. An experienced pro like Graig Gordon or a hungry youngster?

But Gordon is a Jock - he can`t be a good keeper !<whistle>
He`d be a great signing, espacially on a free, if he could stay fit.

I play in goal, I'd be willing to do it.

And don't worry about me being a Portsmouth fan and intentionally being rubbish, I'd still try my best even if I was playing for Saints! Although, I wouldn't necessarily not be rubbish....

Completely agree with both of these suggestions. I'd rather see a young, hungry keeper brought in as I feel that Kelvin has earned his chance to play in the Premiership more than most at our club so anyone we bring in will have to be second choice in my eyes.

Gordan has been plagued by injuries, obviously has quality but the fact he was released sais a lot, he was amazing when he was first choice, IF he can still play to that level he is a deffinate

I know this is contoversial but i would like to see a top goal keeper in to replace/push Kelvin for the first team place.

Not controversial, it's all about competition for places. Whilst Kelvin deserves to be number 1 anything can happen and no point having someone who can't step in. Either an experiences pro with a couple of years left or a player in there mid twenties ready to step up in a couple of years.

We are trying to sign Jack Butland. I live in Bristol and my local office (i'm never there) is out in Cheltenham. I know a few people that have dealings with the club and they have stated that we are very keen in bringing him in

Would be a great buy IMO. Would also explain why Bart has gone.

didn't Celtic sign him permanently? This why I said Gordon won't go there.

Last thing I heard, Newcastle were refusing to sell him permanently. It would sort of defeat the purpose of loaning a promising youngster out for a couple of seasons, to improve and get experience, if you then sell them straight away. Hence why Celtic appear to have turned their attentions to Gordon.

That's done it, if we can't spell his name right, he is a none starter.

Alex Smithies would be quality for us, has represented England at every youth level. Been unlucky with injury this season. Still very young but I believe would be a good 2nd choice keeper.

I don't think Gordon would be a good signing as he is always injured look at him at Sunderland, when he is not injured he is class but that is not often, look how much they spent on him, bit of a waste.

I think the idea of getting a keeper who is prepared to bide his time is totally wrong. Wasn't that a part of Bart's downfall?

We definitely need a keeper that is at least as good as Kelvin, another strong CB and midfielder and maybe somebody who can do either plus an out and out wide man.
