Obviously this is pure speculation at the minute and we don't know the reasons he has for wanting to leave, but if Holt's reason really is because he wants to move back up north because he's 'home sick', then can I suggest to Mr and Mrs Holt, that you Man and Woman Up respectively. You aren't living in Outer *****lia in terms of the distance back to the north of England, nor are you living in East London in terms of the living environment of Norfolk. Infact, you are living in one of the nicest parts of the country. Granted, if Holt was living down here by himself and his Wife and Kids were back in Carlisle I would have a lot more sympathy with his position. Holt's got what? 2 years or so left at the club I'd have thought. If it is because they are home sick, are they saying that they really couldn't live here for another 2 years or so? I mean come on...

Are you serious mate ? <doh>

Anyway, I've just heard a rumour from a pretty reliable source at Colney as to what's happened here. Now this might be complete bollocks, but this 'source' did predict the appointment of Rodent and several other events that came to fruition at NCFC over the last few years. I'm being told that PL and Holt have been at loggerheads over the last few months with his constant battle with his weight and his continuous eating of junk food. There was, alledgedly, a bust up bigtime resulting with Holt being put on the bench for the Liverpool game. Let's be honest we were all baffled by that. It appears Holt has thrown his toys out of the pram like a big kid. Like I say, could be complete bollocks only time will tell <ok>

Sorry, I know this post is going to play right into the hands of Mikey and the Binners, but WTF

Lambert is staying then

I heard something along those lines as well mate <ok> Also I heard they had a right old ding-don't on the disastrous trip to Spain near the end of the season.
And we never did find out where that black eye came from....

I have to say, when I heard the news earlier, the first thing that came to my mind was that Lambert and Holt had had a falling out. Could have been a heat of the moment thing with Holt demanding a transfer. Maybe Lambert's told him to cool off for the night... Again sadly, all speculation until we find out something more concrete...

please let this be true

The reasons for him handing in a transfer request are anyone's guess. If it's homesickness, I don't get it, his family are here, he's 31 and doesn't have that many years left in him. Man up and keep playing at the highest level possible. If his other half is homesick, she should woman up and realise her husbands career is only a short one and they'll be back up north before she knows it. If it's money, again I don't get it, admittedly all things are relative but even £15k a week is £780k a year - with 4-5 years left surely he can put some away for a rainy day.

If his head's been turned that's a different story. The chance to play at a bigger club would be a difficult one to turn down. Or perhaps he knows Lambert is off and wants to follow.

Mind you everything is conjecture at the moment, and we may never know the truth. As it stands, we've had three cracking years, which I'll remember with fondness...

Holt's slimmed down a lot this season but one thing that astounds me is how footballers can be fat, I go to gym loads and even though I do resistance training them guys must do tons of cardio work so much their metabolisms would be working on overdrive you'd have to eat a Rickie Hatton diet to put the weight on.

Hmm, now the more I think about this, the more I'm coming to the same conclusion. IF Paul Lambert is to remain as our Manager and I hope and pray that he does, it's becoming obvious to me that unfortunately Holt has probably played his last competitive game for us. NO ONE, I repeat NO ONE crosses Paul Lambert, he is the GAFFER !

Chill out FFS!

No one knows why yet, just wait and see could just be a falling out at training or something and heat of the moment thing.

As for all the binners, they have been waiting for this moment for ages so fill your boots boys it will be our turn again soon to take the piss out of your **** hole club.
