Tbh I could understand if Chelsea fans didn't like it but most of u say that we r only doing what u would do. I just find it weird that Arsenal fans would rather see u win the CL than us even in it when Spurs are the club obsessed with Arsenal and they don't give us a second thought apparently.
I don't mind you doing it, it's actually pretty funny, I just don't like it when some of the cretins on your board say we don't deserve to win it!
Some people seem to think ur display against barca was anti football but you done what u needed to do and it worked. I thought it was a truely amazing defensive display. Not deserving to win if u do is just nonsense tbh. We dont deserve to miss out but thats the rules. Btw the 2nd leg of napoli was one of the best cl games this season.
Someone phoned up TalkSport yesterday and said 'we could've set up against Barca to play like Arsenal and got beat 3-0 or we could play more defensively and see what happened' - I think we all know what worked. I'm really not bothered about all the wumming going on at the moment from a lot of the Chelsea fans on here. I'm far more concerned/interested to see how Tottenham react to the situation that has been put upon them.
Liverpool didn't get out their own half when we played them in 2005 home or away yet I never once claimed they were anti-football. They came up against a team that was arguably the best in world football and did what suited them best. We were no different vs Barca. My idea of anti-football is playing for 0-0 with no attempt to win the match or tie. We didn't do that. Nobody can say in any game we didn't try to win. How the hell can people expect us to keep more possession and dominate Bayern in a game of football when the worlds most expensively assembled squads in City and Real couldn't? The same goes for Barca. If Milan and Real can't get more than 40% of the ball against Barca then why are we expected to? One of the best moments ever in my footballing life was when Wenger went to the Nou Camp and played defensively. It was the moment where he abandoned all his principles and realised our way of playing Barca was In fact the correct one

It's called T A C T I C S useing what you have available too YOUR own best advantage, I guess we could have just gone gung ho and maybe lost 9-2 and people would say what a cracking game, I say fug em all, fug em all, utd, west ham liverpoo cos we are the CHELSEA and we are the best, we are the CHELSEA so fug all the rest................
I don't understand why people are trying to justify the way we played and WON. Last word is the only thing that needs saying
Because they have been telling us all year what Valencia, Napolic, Barca and Bayern will do to us and now we've beaten them all so in a last desperate attempt they try and criticise the way in which we won however we all know they wouldn't care if they won the thing
I don't give a damn about the way you played. It's a results driven business and Chelsea won it - 'nuff said. The only thing I was a bit confused with was why there were many threads on here having a go at us for supporting Bayern and how it was a disgrace/two-faced that Harry would be supporting Bayern etc etc. If it had been Arsenal in 4th, their fans would be supporting Bayern and Wenger would too. If Chelsea had been 4th and some other English team had been in the final, you lot would be supporting Bayern as would RDM. That's the only point of confusion for me.
No Chelsea fan would begrudge Spurs supporting Bayern if the roles had been reversed every Chelsea fan would have done the same but the badge changing and grovelling/sucking up to Bayern was way OTT in my view and smacks of small club mentality. I remember us needing Wigan to take something off United on the last day to win the title but did you ever see us mimicking that kind of behaviour. What annoyed some was that Harry claimed no matter what the scenario he would be supporting the English team, even if Spurs came 4th only days later to publically say he would be supporting Bayern days later due to the obvious repercussions for Spurs. Either keep schtum or pick your side and stick with them. Jumping a sinking ship is a typical Arry reaction and is two faced in my view but it didn't bother me as much as it did others on this board
Not606 didn't exist then so who knows In fairness, I doubt Harry ever foresaw a situation where this would happen to a club under his management - hell the entire situation itself isn't exactly common. It would have been incredibly arrogant of him to have originally said 'I'll always support an English team in the final - unless it detrimentally affects my own team' - to which the journos and fans would have torn him apart.
He actually said it at a time when Spurs were 4th. I think he genuinely believed Arsenal would come 4th
Well then surely isn't it a bit silly for some people to cry over what he says when we're talking about a man who, in weeks previous, claimed we could win the title?
