    I'm not against Gerrard being captain, but has he played well when fit this season? With only MOTD to go by, he has seemed a bit anonymous recently?

    Not at all, it's something a lot of Liverpool fans have also been guilty of believing too, so I don't begrudge you that opinion.

    He's had several obvious stand out performances, but even when he isn't actually scoring, he exerts huge influence.

    He drops deep, drives forward, practically never misplaces a pass and can play the team out of trouble. He is like Scholes in that he can pick up the ball in midfield, turn, have a look and make the right pass to keep things ticking over.

    People just expect him to break the top corner from 30 yards because he did it regularly a few years ago when we were good!

    To be fair the only time he looks committed for England is on the rare occassions he wears the armband. Maybe he might actually put a shift in...
