I have watched in disgust over the past day, thread after thread talking about the team, the manager, the owner, the past, the present and future. All of this but not one word, not one I tell you about the move of a Sunderland icon, Joan’s cafe is no more.

During the SoL years how many of us have sampled the famous bacon butty, the full English or the saggy sausage. For some time now the cafe has been closed on mach days, then that sign appeared, ” Opening soon under new management” and now gone is that famous sign, Joans Cafe and in it’s place is, SoL De-Lights.

The questions are,

Will the prices be higher?
Is it true that a new Joans Cafe is now open outside Villa Park?
How has this not made MOTD or Soccer Saturday?
 
How many of us have had the runs the next day after eating (what we knew whilst munching) clearly undercooked sausages or burgers?
When with my boys they always insisted on waiting to get back over the bridge to go to MacDonalds.

The lure of the greasy spoon, you know it's not good for you, you know you're going to suffer chronic heartburn, probably get the trots as well but you still do it. Bit like the halftime Balti Pie, you know it's going to be like molten lava, you're going to end up with a mouth full of ulcers and heartburn but you still do it every time. We just never learn do we?

could be its just a good way to take our minds of the game
 
Thankfully never had to go for a sit down in the bogs at Roker Park (how desperate you would have to have been to risk a splash back on there) had to plodge in the piss to go take a leak a few times mind. :)

Aye them were the days, a torrent of piss running past your feet and you could smell them from outside the ground as well.
