I call it BPL on account of the sponsors :D

I even pronounce it the Burple instead of saying the Premier League.

I don't mind EPL!

BPL is the one that makes me rage!

Anyway the EPL is ruined due tot he addition of Swansea, feelsbatman

I don't know why I do but does anyone else cringe a bit when people call or write it 'EPL'? It just seems so plastic.

But aren't the people who refer to it as the EPL from other countries?
There are a multitude of Premier Leagues around the world so isn't it only natural that foreigners will use the country to differentiate them?
Not sure why it would make you cringe.

There is no such thing as the EPL

The website says Premier League, not English Premier League
so there :)

I used to cringe when I heard it. However, I think its just a sign that the Premier League have been so successful at marketing their brand abroad. It is natural that, even though the official name is the Premier League and not the English Premier League, people from other countries will refer to it as EPL. The clubs in the Premier League rake in millions of pounds from this marketing and we see the benefits of this when we see world class players from all across the world playing for our clubs each week. If we're willing to take the cash from the Premier League being a global brand we can't really complain when people want to distinguish it from other premier leagues by inserting English. We can't have it both ways.
