Love the title of this thread. I always thought Celtic were the real Hoops?

Funny i thought we had them before Celtic?
But no worry from us, Celtic are the 'Hoops' as are QPR known as R's and 'Superhoops' and Reading are the 'Royals'. <ok>

Well, Queenslander got it a bit wrong in the initial topic!
"Well done lads, great to see at least 1 team will be sprting hoops in the Prem next year."

Delighted QPR stay up, looking forward to chat already

    What a day!
Best Premiership last day in history.

Next season QPR v Reading and Reading v QPR. Beats going to Blackburn/Bolton/Wolves nice close game.
Good to have you on the Premiership board and hope you all post unlike the 3 that went down?

We have one of the most active boards on here and will look forward to the Banter however i will say it won't be as good as when we were a Championship club (old 606) because we are reunited with some old foes.

Anyway look forward to chat in August.

I would love to off-load because he has cost us points this season and nearly relegation but i believe it would cost us £12m (because of the contract he signed). Now i know our owners are loaded but they are not stupid.
He really has been a big 'let down' as has 'SWP'. Simply not good enough and i cannot see either in MH plans for future.
    However
Saying all that No other club would want him so we maybe stuck with him. Faurlin will be back and if we get the player we want in MF then Barton will warm the bench and can spend all game on Twitter.

No place for Connolly so i reckon you could get him for £1m. I also see us shipping out 12-15 players who's contracts are up and won't feature in MH plans so you might get a bargin like Gorkks/Legs. <ok>

I must say it will be strange seeing the old Rangers boys at Reading next year but we had a lot of time for Gorkks so him and Connolly (if he signs) will get a good reception however Legs may get a few boos.

Been a lot of ups and downs for us this year but next we will be much stronger and moving forward, so no more last day nerves.

We've had a pro squad of 50 players this season (after the winter transfer window incomes) so we've got a fair bit of off-loading to do ourselves it seems ...

50! I bet you don't have £20-25K a week players that have not played a first team game for over a year though? I reckon we can save millions in shipping out these 'bench warmers'.
Our club made £43m this season from Sky/Prem and i bet most of it went on these wasters.

And paying Barton's wages for the 12 game ban too? Or is he gonna be stripped of the dough in this period?

True, we're still little 'ol Reading, and don't pay much - and stoogy is probably more correct. Let's see if this takeover thing actually gets finalized, there's a fair bit of nervousness on both main Reading FC independent forums right now.
Yep, we've now got a dozen or so players released. How a large squad can be happy at not getting games is beyond me - they say McDermott's a great man management boss, but even so ...
Only offset I'm not happy with is the Polish U21 Tomasz Cywka - crafty dribbler cutting in from the wings, I'm sorry for him, especially after his big bust-up with Nigel Clough he thought he had got his career going again here.

That was not a dig at Reading i was surprised when i read about our wage bill for players sitting in the reserves. <ok>

This money thing is certainly something to be cautious about. I really don't think that we will end up like a Pompy or Leeds as our the backers really do have a lot of money. I am also sure that 'team Amit' will make sure the club is run properly and we will only buy what we can afford.

Don't know too much about the guy buying Reading although i did read an artical about when he tried to buy Everton. All sounded a bit dodgy but who knows and only time will tell.

As for transfers i can see Connolly making the trip down the M4 as he needs football and i cannot see him getting in a MH team (saying that i thought Hill would never get in and he helped keep us up)? So i expect him to join Reading. Always liked Connolly but the 'heads' not right. mayby under BM he will shine.

I am turning off the PC for the summer as i hate all the 'rubbish rumours'. I will just wait and see. <ok>

Not a bad idea. We've got so many posts - thousands - on possible players coming in I sometimes get dizzy; go out for an afternoon, get back and there's pages to catch up on! Still, should never complain at having good activity on an individual club forum.

I've got something in back of head as to when we play QPR - some kind of short fan article from you about QPR's season up to that point (can be as provocative as you like as long as it's decent language!!:smiley-finger007: ) .... you'd get massive viewing 'cos you seem to be pretty famous on Royals Rendezvous!!

Yeah sounds good. I had one of my articals published on 'NewsNow' at the begining of the season. I don't use bad language and since we have gone up i have mellowed a bit (probably because we are back debating with Chelsea fans, who are our true enemy). I will make sure i pop over to your site and post an artical. <ok>

Well done Reading on promotion and QPR for staying up - liking the banter on here between your two teams so going to give out some rep to good sirs. looking forward to seeing all you 'half hoops' in Premier League next season. Congrats from the Toon Army!
