Just stating it how it is i'd say. Before a ball was kicked this season, considering the expectation was the 2 Mancs, Chavs and Goons for top 4, if you'd offered me this as our only chance of CL including a gamble in the Final, I'd have took it over the expected 5th and EL.

I will admit that i have had enough of the bloke. He's a self plublicist and i don't think he is the man to take us forward.
 
It is very poor message to give out at this point. All it does is plead his own case.

As I said before as long as Harry provides the fuel then he must expect the replies.

He could have said: We have had a great season and we need to keep pushing on from here. Levy manages to put over a positive message and his job is far more complicated than Harrys. I have little sympathy for Mr.Redknapp and his continual self promotion.
 
It's become apparent over the last 3 seasons that Redknapp is great with a winning team high on confidence, but pretty poor with an out of form team low on confidence

2009/10 we were doing well until teams started parking the bus (such as Tottenham 0 Stoke 1) and Defoe/Crouch stopped working. Ironically it was one of Redknapp's disfavoured players Pavlyuchenko that got us back on track for CL
2010/11 The failure to learn lessons from the last season in breaking down teams that parked the bus cost us a CL place
2011/12 Redknapp's angling for the England job, while not solely responsible for poor performances (players are paid silly amounts to do their job), should have destroyed any support he had amongst Tottenham fans. This is not to mention throwing away a 10 point lead in 3rd place and constant public comments about wanting rival clubs like Chelsea to do well in the CL, even though that could cost Tottenham a CL place (which makes today's comments about being delighted to finish 4th even more inexplicable and inexcusable)

I sympathise with your argument, but you have to give Redknapp credit for turning round the out of form and nil confidence side that he took over from Signor Ramos.

I agree with you that Redknapp looks a bit lost when things don't go his way but I don't think there is much doubt about his ability to build a decent squad and motivate the players he favours is there?

The problems come when a tactical change is needed (which by its very nature is when things are going wrong) or fringe squad players and rotating his resources.

We have a whole host of players who are unlikely to feature in one of his 11's, rusting away and losing value.

There is plenty to criticise him for.

When one of Harry's first 11 is unavailable he prefers to put players out of position rather than play a reserve capable of filling that position (such as Bale as LB and Modric on the left today)

Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't

It's all too easy for him to blame the reserve players like Pav, Corluka, GDS, Bentley, Bent and Gomes. They all have positives and failings but so do his preferred 11 and you would never hear the Fergusons, Mourinhos or Guardiolas criticising their players
 
I just wish that Redknapp would come out and admit that he balls-ed it up for us from March onwards. I'd have respect for him, then. And I'm sure the players would, too.

My real worry is that, with the way he handled himself over the "cry Harry for England" bollocks, he may have lost the kind of respect from players such as Modric and Bale that might just have kept them with us for another couple of seasons.

I'm not a Redknapp apologist, nor do I take any great delight in running the bloke down, I'm speaking purely as a Spurs fan who has supported this club since I was 2 years old, growing up in the area, and who wants only the best for the club.

Or, let me put it another way. I want always what is best for Spurs, and I only give a toss for what's best for Redknapp if what's best for him coincides with what is best for Spurs.
 
I think we've over-achieved to get 4th. We will have to over achiever again next season. Utd City and Chelsea blow us out of the water in terms of finances. Arsenal get a lot more income than us, and might start spending more of it. Liverpool are bigger than us and have more income. It's gonna be very tough indeed. If I was to predict now, I'd predict we'd finish 5th/6th.

So I am glad your not the manager then Ghoddle. A football managers job is to get the best out the team and also to create the best team he can. He is not there to tell us how difficult this is or how lucky we are to have him. We know it's difficult; it's just possible it's why he gets paid a small fortune to do it.

Any manager, of whatever operation, who tells his people how difficult his job is has already failed in my opinion. Especially when he is in a position, as Redknapp is, to take some credit for achieving a 4th place finish. Perhaps if Redknapp was just a coach then I would not criticize but he claims to be a manager.

It's lucky he knows something about football and players because he displays a complete lack of understanding of what management is about.
 
I don't think we have over-achieved, not in the slightest. Our squad has been quality for three solid seasons. When we finished 4th three seasons ago, people said we over-achieved, and I believed them.

Then, last season, when we finished 5th almost pipping the Gooners to 4th, but with £ity's big bucks' spending having finally kicking in, people again said we were punching above our weight and should be grateful to have finished among the big boys.

Now, this season, having finished 4th for the second time in three seasons, people are again saying we should feel grateful.

No, bollocks to that! Enough is enough.

We have shown the one thing that any top team has to show in order to be taken seriously, and that is consistency. So, please, let's give this squad some credit and not run it down by saying that we've been "lucky" or we've "punched above our weight" or any of the other false plaudits that are bandied about like some back-handed insult.

Next season, I expect us to finish top 4 again, and I expect the club to set us up for that. Redknapp continuously trying to bull-**** me with "well, it's a tough league" and "there are no easy games" simply doesn't wash any more. Yes, I know it's a tough league, and yes, I know there are no easy games, but we are a top team with top players, and we should be living up to those expectations. If you cannot handle that, Harry, then do the decent thing and **** off and let someone who has the courage of the fans' convictions have a go.
