Every spurs fan will accept we need to get a top class striker in for next season. Villareal have been relegated, and as such, both Giuseppe Rossi and Nilmar are going to be available cheaply. Rossi is particularly interesting prospect as we've been dancing around him for a while, this time we can actually get him

Isn't Rossi suffering from a long term injury ??

Been out most of the season, but that doesn't stop him being great does it? Especially if he's cut price

He re-injured himself in training, while attempting to recover from his last injury.
He'll be out for at least another 9 months, unfortunately.

Fair enough on the length, but he's too good a player to be kicking around in Liga Adelante

Very true, but I think he'll spend most of next season recovering from his injury problems.
He'll have a good shot at a big move next summer (2013), but his wages might cripple Villarreal until then.
They might let him go for a pittance this summer, instead.

Does a pittance not sound like a good thing to you?

Yes, but he'd be a risk.
Being out for over a season raises some serious doubts over a player's long term fitness.
I don't think that Levy would sanction that move, to be honest.

Probably wouldn't. If he didn't, I hope it doesn't become another player we could've signed, that we'll later regret. The fact remains we need to get a star striker. As well as Adebayor has done, he's not got enough goals to mean we sign him then forget about it

They will quite simply have to. His price will just plummet if nobody goes for him, until they're practically giving him away to get him off their wage bill.

You can't dismiss he might not play again if this keeps happening, wouldn't be the first time. Waste of money till theirs a better prognosis.

This is true. Might re-ignite our pursuit of Llorente?

  13. Where are we with Leandro Damaio?

Levy can do himself and the club a great service in convincing the likes of Bale to stay put by buying a marque striker early, and showing our intent for next season.

Let's offload Defoe for as much as we can get (£10 million?), sign Ade, and get in New Striker for £25-£30 million.

Who is going to pay Ade's wages? Certainly not us.

    A word of warning

We have been here before in 2009-10, and that's without the possibility of an English club winning the CL

Expect CL player business to be conducted if Bayern win otherwise it'll be Harry's past it 30 somethings (similar to Glenn Hoddle)

  16. We'll end up doing a deal with £ity. They'll need him off their wage bill, in order to make room for their next batch of marque signings.

If we're lucky, we might even pick up another tasty loanee, or two, from them.
