What is it you've said several times? In fact, what point is it you're arguing exactly?

I haven't exactly been following the thread religiously...

That the fact that he's well known despite not writing anything, having pictures drawn of him, no tomb being found etc. is quite strange, considering he was such an important figure. Anyway, how did this stuff about Jesus start, I thought it was Creationism?!

"Reading through this thread, it strikes me that you are a singularly unpleasant individual, intellectually insecure (as evidenced by your need to put people down) and charmless. Grow up. Fast. No one is impressed by this."

Whomever sent me this, could have done it via PM. Perhaps they are so "intellectually insecure" that they didn't want to tackle me head on.

The people who need religion suffer low self-esteem, that's why you get sucked into the bullshit - because you can't face the truth and the reality and want to hide under your Mams skirt, or religion...<ok> Cowards. Unable to face the truth.

I bet you love SyFy too! <cheers> Escapism is the best way for the frightened.

Yes you did. God does not exist and the sooner you accept the fact and grow up, the better.

Well you see, Batman & Joker are not a religion, neither do they profess to be a way of life or religion... more to the point it's simply a name on an internet forum...<ok>

It's a bit of humour really.

God bless you and keep you... <laugh>

Oh I see what you're getting at!

Well, I used to read Batman comics when I was a boy... I think it's ok for kids to enjoy comics isn't it? Had to choose a name on here and didn't really fancy being called Jesus or Moses so plumped for my old pal Joker...<ok>

There isn't really the comparison that you're looking for as my point was that SyFy was escapism in the same way that religion is - NOT that there is anything wrong with liking Science Fiction...<cheers>

I'm prepared to bet good money that you could recount plenty of "fairy tales" and that you certainly were not preparing to do the washing-up when your hands were drenched with 'fairy liquid' <laugh>

Honestly, what a poor grasp of basic English you have!

Can I ask, seriously, do you believe that God made the universe in 6 days, as it is now, as I asked in the original post when I started this thread? Do you refute the Big Bang and/or Evolutionary Theory?

My grasp is just fine thanks.

Do I believe in Creationism. No
Do I refute the Big Bang and/or Evolutionary Theory. No

Do I believe in a historical person named Jesus? Yes
    And so do you.

I only interjected when you said that Buddhism was based on a historical person. I said that so was Christianity. And you agree with me.

The Bible is full of contradictions and ridiculous claims that are not supported by any evidence. Good examples include claims that Cockatrices, Giants, Unicorns, Dragons, Dmons, Witches and Wizards, etc all exist, as well as that bats are birds, snakes eat dust, bird blod can cure leprosy, snakes and donkeys/asses can talk, the Earth is flat and exists beneath a 'dome', the Sun orbits the Earth, the Earth is fixed and doesn't move, etc. My favourite is the one that says that a man who is his own father, son and ghost sends himself to Earth to crucify himself to get rid of a loophole in a law he created, thus ridding the world of an evil that is inherent in man because a woman ate magical fruit after being persuaded to by a talking snake.

It is absurd and you guys should get a grip if you believe that tripe. There are even many contradictions within the Bible regarding Jesus, so why should I then trusts a source that dates from decades, centuries or millennia after he supposedly died?
