Want to edit my last post. I hadn't seen the reaction on the other thread before I posted so I take it back. Fair play to everyone for condemning him.
Tbf, I can empathise, to get sent off for nothing in the biggest game of the season, i would be ****ing raging. And once you're out, you might as well go out in style. I wish he'd broken that slimy **** Tevez's face though.
Newcastle fan here just to say the sooner you get rid of Joey the better. Not a good person to have around and you can see now why we let him go for nowt. Hope Hughesy had a right go at him behind closed doors.
The rights and wrongs of the sending off are another matter. I'd have to see it again. But even if it wasn't merited, his reaction was a disgrace. He kneed one player, tried to head butt another and was still spoiling for a fight with Balotelli going off the pitch. He was totally out of control. We didn't need the distraction and should have been organising for playing with ten men rather than desperately trying to rein him in. Plus how much of that injury time was down to that whole incident?
Well done to the club for staying up & well done to the fans who rightly condemn Barton. He should never be allowed onto a football pitch again.
What I mean is Tevez did pretty mich the same but gets away with nothing, and had Tevez not done anything in the first place, the whole thing wouldn't have happened
you want rid of him, but who would take him? he thinks he is too good for the championship, and they couldnt afford him - premier league wise, who would want him at the moment? - i think he was seriously struggling for a club when you took him - and his stock has only fallen further... i wouldnt be all that surprised if he did something mental...and retire...
He done fantastic today. I've heard from a first team player that there was also a fracas in the tunnel and a city employee got severely hurt. Expect it to be reported shortly in the locals Great day out
I don't think anyone is excusing what he did but it's incredible that the linesman can see Barton's from all that way away and not Tevez's. Barton is clearly an animal but they should both have walked.
Roller, if anyone deserved to start an "I told you so" thread its you. You said right from the start what Barton would bring to the Club and now you've been proven right you should get the acknowledgement for that. Not least because you were attacked for your opinions at the time. You're being overly dignified mate. Its time you stuck it up to those who slated ye.
Joey Barton faces a long ban from football after losing it against Manchester City. With his Queens Park Rangers side drawing 1-1 at the Etihad Stadium in their crunch final game of the season, he was sent off after appearing to elbow Carlos Tevez. please log in to view this image please log in to view this image please log in to view this image please log in to view this image please log in to view this image please log in to view this image please log in to view this image please log in to view this image
