Released today by Mr Levy. http://www.tottenhamhotspur.com/spu...e?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=social-media Key point for me right there
Yep too right Moorpheus. Also reading through it made me realise that we have a chairman who really and truly loves and cares for his club- a quite rare quality these days.
I expected Levy to say nothing less. It is consistent with everything we know about him. The only reason that bitter rival fans have to accuse us of being a selling club is primarily to do with the sale of Carrick and Berbatov to United. However, the sale of Carrick was good business, and the sale of Berbatov was forced on Levy by the player acting unprofessionally, following an outrageous tapping-up campaign by United, for which they were heavily criticised. If either Bale or Modric are sold, it will be when Levy wants to sell, and for more money than either United, Chavs or Barca will be prepared to part with.
We are very lucky to have such a chairman I can't think of a better one. Not many in the PL can be proud of their chairman and their team.
Yes Levy is a triffic chairman for Spurs, he has had his faults like sacking Jol and appointing muppets like Comolli and Ramos but overall he has run our club superbly and I wouldnt want anybody else in charge of Spurs.
He made mistakes early on, but he's learnt from that, one thing is not in doubt, his every decision only has THFC at heart, and fair play to him for standing up for the club, refusing to be pushed about even at Government level. Joe Lewis will sell one day, and I hope Levy continues whatever happens,
Most clubs sell when other teams start tapping-up their players - that's how tapping up works. That doesn't make us a selling club, apart from in the minds of MUPLC fans who forget the minor issue that they're the only kidnappers in history who paid a random of £30m...
I don't think that Levy's some kindhearted altruist or that he allows his emotions for the club to rule his head. I just think that he understands that the best way to improve the value of the club is often what the fans want, too. Keep your best players, progress as often as possible, improve the club's infrastructure and grow the 'brand' as much as you can. All of these will increase a club's worth in a financial sense, but they also happen to be things that we like to see.
Not selling is a good start, but buying is also required. When key players were injured we looked ordinary at times this season. If we want to have a successful CL campaign (assuming we qualify), and have a good league/cup campaign, we'll need some more strength in depth. Starting place, a 20+ goals striker
Yes. In the larger scheme of things, it makes sense to invest a certain amount in Tottenham to make more. A London football club with a rich history could become much more successful than it has been in the recent past with the right kind of support. I remain a big fan of Levy, and hope he keeps doing an excellent job. Levy and the fans seem to be on the same page. Everyone wants to build the club the right way.
