Because plans approved by Portsmouth City Council are to see Fratton Park redeveloped with an increased capacity and associated developments including entertainment complex with a multiplex cinema as well as a new supermarket and customer carpark

And then I woke up with a start as my mum had brought me in a cup of tea...

were no longer viable as the club were now owned by a trust without two happenies to rub together and who were now groundsharing with Eastleigh FC whose ground was just across Stoneham Lane from Pompey's rented training ground thus saving on travelling costs and other associated expenditure. Gates had plummeted with only two poor souls travelling up from Portsmouth on match days to see their team slaughtered by yet another Southern League Division South team. Meanwhile their hated rivals Southampton FC were romping to yet another great win in their fifth Champions League final this time in Rome.

Interviewed after their latest defeat by 15 goals to nil the Pompey manager Billy no Mates who used to be a ball boy at Fratton Park was reported to have said "Our lads gave their all but sadly it was not good enough. We just have to resign ourselves to another stuffing next week when we play Bognor Regis's B team."
