I said a couple of weeks ago that Stoke earned around £43miliion Pounds in the year from Sky and the EPL. Here is a breakdown of what I am told the club earnt when we finished 13th. 1) Sky pay same amount to all 20 EPL clubs £13.8 Million 2) Facility Fees upto 10 Live TV appearances £5.9 Million 3) Merit Payments from EPL Finisihing 13th £6.00 Million 4) Overseas TV equal to all clubs £17.9 Million Hope this is of interest. I found it staggering! Anyway Saturday. I am supposedly meeting Crouchie to present him with player of season from the southern supporters so that should be interesting. Just hope he bangs in a couple to keep a few on here happy! Cheers
Average Stoke wage is 22k a week - just over a million a year. 25 man squad means that or wage bill is only 25 million and thats before, sponsership, advertising and game revenue (including season tickets) would add at least another 20 million +! Wheres the other 40 million going?
Its about time they spent some money on the Brit, like a bit of paint on the ground, and a few plants in the tubs around the Stanley Matthews statue, and get the Gorden Banks statue out side the brit.
Potts I voted for him as well on Stoke website and in SCSSC. Still awaiting that newsletter. AGM on 25th May which will be a good knees up!
From the swiss ramble stats on his blog in 2010/11 you had the 6th lowest wage bill at £47m. This equates to 70% of your turnover which is about average. Its recommended to try and keep it below 60% really. United have the lowest at 46% and then us at 55% at the moment I believe. Your revenue is about 10th in the league. Over the last 4 years you have been 3rd in the league in terms of net transfer spend (estimated) behind only city and chelsea. Hope this info is interesting. From what I can tell you arent a badly run club financially
Arsenal for life Thanks but we had a rough idea of net spend ect. Transfers/wages. I thought the 12 million for Crouch was ott but, he's scored 14 so far and has kept us in the Premier League. Seeing those figures by the OP. In terms of "worth to Stoke City F.C." it's money well spent because without his goals we would be below 13th IMO.
Cant see how our wage bill is anywhere near 47 Million if our average wage bill is 22k a player? Thats been confirmed in the wage structure for all professional sporting clubs.
Because wage bill includes coaches, physios, back room staff, merketting people, people at the grounds, groundsmen etc
There's a lot that gets spent, back room staff and all, ground and training ground maintenance, and probably a **** load of stuff we haven't thought of. But they make money off all the corporate suite and renting out offices etc, so **** know how it all pans out.
So we could save a few bob if we don't cut the grass in the middle third of the pitch! it's not as if we use it for anything.
