Still hopeful for tomorrow, but looking at the table, just how significant / costly will the capitulation against the Goons at the Emigrates prove to be? Just a single goal deficit could be the difference between 3rd and 4th or potentially 5th. OUCH!!
True relayer, but we could say that about any game over the course of the season. 1-5 to city? Thank god it's only 1 goal. Regardless of what happens, it's going to be another great final day
Roo, youre right but the relevance is the fact that it was unnecessary giveaway against the side we're challenging.... 1 goal or 10 is irrelevant if we both draw tomorrow, which is quite a likely outcome....
Fulham are a tough side, last thing on my mind is goal difference as am just hoping we can get a win, even if we sneak it!
Yeah fair one. It's a shame we caved in! Tough tough game tomorrow, but arsenals injuries and now hearing that Dempsey is out, is a massive boost for us!
We cannot end up behind Arsenal on goal difference, no matter what happens tomorrow. The only way we will end up level on points is if we draw and Arsenal lose. If we draw, our GD will remain on 23. If Arsenal lose, their GD will be 23 at best. Therefore in that scenario it would be GS not GD which decides it. If Arsenal lose by 2 or more goals, we would beat them on GD.
Fulham may be tough, but they have only won 4/18 on the road. I just hope they don't shut up shop and play for a point. If that's the case, it could be a frustrating afternoon. God, I hope not!
I just hope we get a reasonably quick goal. First 20 minutes will do. and then another and another. It will no doubt be a sweat to the finish, Spurs rarely give us an easy ride.
If you remember back to the away match, Fulham gave us one of our hardest matches when we were in our 'playing well' zone. That needn't matter tomorrow of course, a completely different team/approach might turn up, but they could certainly play with a nothing to lose attitude in which case anything could happen.
Apart from personal/club pride there's nothing on it for them, so lets hope the Thomson brochures are foremost in their minds. I also do not see Jol having any 'revenge' ideas as some media are trying to stir. Jol's beef is with Levy imo, not the fans or club, he knows what it felt like to miss out and if you asked for a neutral answer, he wouldn't like to see the fans go through it again. The fact him and his team stand in the way of it, is ironically unfortunate, and he'll just send his team out as normal, if he parks the bus I'll be surprised.
