11th May 1996. Wembley. FA Cup Final. Manchester United v Liverpool. United go into the game as League Champions for the 3rd time in 4 seasons and looking for their second 'Double' and the first 'Double Double'. The star of the show and match winner was one Eric Cantona. His half volley in the 86th minute was the deciding goal in an otherwise subdued encounter. Haha, I hope it will be pinned and something different added each day, good or bad but United related. Seems like a good idea for a thread and a few may learn a thing or two
Was sat directly behind the goal when King Eric fired in that volley and don't really remember what happened for the next four or five minutes, we were just on another planet, great moment, one of many !

12th May 1990, Wembley, FA Cup Final Manchester United v Crystal Palace. Alex Ferguson goes into this game under real pressure. His job is anything but safe and fans are getting on his back. The game ends 3-3 and United go on to win the replay and the rest, well thats history isnt it.
Was at this one and was still jumping up and down ( with a rather nice blonde girl in front of me ) celebrating our equaliser when Arsenal scored the winner. It's been said many times but if we had just held out until extra time Arsenal where finished and we would have won comfortably
My brother in law, who owns a tv/media company got me a ticket for this one and we were sat in the then new " olympic gallery " (at least I think it was called that anyway) and David Mellor ( ex Tory MP ) and several members of the cabinet were sat in front of us. I have never heard so much utter rubbish spoken at a football match in my life, especially from David Mellor, who at one stage tried to explain the offside rule to one of his female colleagues ( also a minister ) and got it completely wrong. He went on to become sports minister I think and headed a special enquiry on football, I seem to remember. He was also supposed to be a keen Chelsea fan, but what a complete pillock !!!!! I didn't really enjoy that particular match, as I was sworn to behave myself by my brother in law, but the replay the following Thursday was great cause I was back with "The Lads " and we won 1-0 of course !
The replay will be posted in a few days time. Possibly the most important game SAF managed us in. Up there at least.
13th May 2007, Old Trafford Manchester United v West Ham United West Ham need a win to stay up. A certain Carlos Tevez scores the only goal for the hammers against a Manchester United side already crowned Champions.
