Fair enough. I know it kicked off a bit after a win for us a few years ago at your place, possibly the same game that Taggart got sent off after Marc Bircham did his best Rivaldo impression. There was that game that one of your lot ran on the pitch and attacked our goalkeeper at the end too, though that may have been have been the same game. We managed to get fined for failing to control our players when ****tu lamped him if I remember correctly. Hughes probably regrets saying what he did about Fulham and he seemed nailed on for Chelsea or at least Villa at the time. He clearly looks stupid for it but I think if we survive next weekend there is potential there to at first join that group of mid-table clubs with yourself and then push on before hitting the glass ceiling of the top seven or so. I had a look at the Oatcake and some seem to want us down as we're more of a threat to your continued survival at this level than Bolton, which is fair enough, but some showed genuine hatred for 'moneybags' Rangers which was slightly amusing given what you've spent in the last couple of years.
Bolton to go down simply because I hate Owen Coyle for what he did to Burnley, he left them right in the **** and they were then relegated. If he had stayed they would almost certainly have stayed up. What goes around comes around (unfortunately for Bolton).
Hope it's Bolton or there's going to be a lot of disappointed rangers fans at the Brittania on Sunday. Crouch promised in the tunnel post our match that he'd score the goal to keep us up! Having seen the battle you put up against us I can't see you switching off at home in front of your own fans.
QPR - I really dislike Hughes and I would just think it would stick 2 fingers up to the arrogant hierarchy at QPR, showing that you need more than rich benefactors to succeed in the Premier League.
We may battle but as was shown at QPR, there is distinct lack of ability in front of goal, Crouch aside, in our side. I think it's remarkable that Crouch has managed 14 goals this season in all honesty, as the football has been atrocious this season, not a lot of support for him, plus with the way we play we don't create an awful lot so he's putting a lot of his chances away. Just want this season to end tbh, as, Europe aside, it's been an awful one to watch. Worst football I've seen since the binary season of 04/05.
Bolton will see the Stoke game as a winnable game and proper go for it. Stoke folded last year against Wigan and I can forsee us doing the same against Bolton to be honest.
Thanks guys filled me with no end of confidence!! The comments about the football just echo wher my mates have said. By all accounts they can't see it changing while TP is at the helm. Hopefully the team can prove you wrong and give you a quality end of season sign off!
Most of us can we that too. I think we will go for it at the start, but do the usual of trying to defend the point if it's still 0-0 late on.
I hate the 'moneybags' thing, mainly cos it seem as if everyone thinks we bought our way into the PL with billionaire owners, in our promotion season we spent less than quite a few teams in the championship, the owners weren't exactly free spending despite what the media say, our main signings were kenny, hill, derry, mackie, orr and of course taarabt, taarabt being the only flair player and still only 1m for a player who without we probably wouldn't have gone up. we did spend a lot in january though to be fair, and you'd like to think we'd be in a better position for it but sadly not much our record transfer fee is still about 4m though which isn't exactly a crazy amount
Hi Skinman I've never really had a problem with QPR or their fans so no axe to grind from me. What I will say though is that Mark Hughes is not a Stoke fans favourite after he refused to shake Pulis's hand when we knocked Fulham out of the cup last season and also Joey Barton is not particulary liked even before he snubbed us for you To be honest I just want us to beat Bolton as most loyal fans would so hopefully in an ideal world all Stokies would love us to beat Bolton and for you to cost Man City the title after they took the FA Cup off us
This is really weird WHEN exactly did Peter Crouch say " I will score the goal that keeps QPR up"? It's fine being all pally right now the QPR fans but.. should we LOSE on Sunday.. I for one hope we THRASH Bolton.. if we did lose no doubt QPR fans would be all over our board slating us.. ? I do not have a problem with the fans but as far as MH is concerned like Mr Wenger. ANYONE who refuses to shake the other Manager's hand loses my respect. And MH was at FULHAM then not QPR. As Waddo say's I would love it IF you took a pt off Citeh and they lost the title. NOW they have IMO bought the title if they eventually win it on Sunday. Just GO FOR IT QPR and MH you may as well attack rather than just try and defend. We know from experience as Pulis does this against most teams away from home.
to be honest mate my posts were mainly venting myself after reading some on the oatcake forum thing i'll admit i wasn't a huge fan of MH before he came to us! but i'm still confident in him as manager and hopefully you lot can do us a favour good luck for next season anyhow, i actually quite like stoke, but then again i have a soft spot for millwall so maybe not best to take my judgements
Skinman you were very brave to venture onto the oatcake lol. I'm a Stoke season ticket holder and even I daren't go on there
i tend to look at the oppo's main forum before/after our match with them, normally there's a few that are equally active but none are leading by much, but the oatcake has over 2 million posts in the stoke city bit!
Skinman I placed a link to my website on the oatcake on bank holiday Monday. It increased the traffic to the website that day by over 500 hits. It has to be one of the most popular footie forums going!
Well if you can have an opinion on either team in the relegation battle, you should hope that your own team don't lose at home and have other supporters celebrating. Will your players raise their game in the second half I hope so but if you dont you dont deserve to be in the top division any longer.
Thankyou Stoke. Without you we will be in the championship so good luck next season and wont begrudge tyou a win over us.
Must be some celebration at the Etiad? BOTH set's of fans enjoying it, for one reason and another.. funny ole game innit...
