That seems a bit strange given that you cannot claim if it revolves around a crime. For example, there is a case where a group were involved in the theft of a car, one of the group drove too fast and was involved in the accident. One of the passengers then tried to make a claim but couldn't because they were breaking the law.

Interesting that Warky thinks the problem with our society is selfishness and greed when he's an out and out Conservative. You can't have it both ways.

To be perfectly honest though what happened here is just beyond comprehension because nothing you can imagine to do to the perpetrators will stop that lady feeling terror every night for the rest of her precious time on the planet.

Yes I am proud to admit that I am an old fashioned no-nonsense tory and to label all Tories as greedy and selfish is just plain daft and simplistic! Perhaps you were in a deep coma during the last 13 years of Tony Blair!

The world has never owed me a living <ok>

I think it's a bit harsh to blame the fact this crime happened on "liberals".

Well I'm not talking about the politicians themselves Warky, Tory, Labour or Lib Dem there are plenty of them who are only in it for their own careers and interests. What I'm talking about is the erosion of community and the embracing of selfish values over the course of the eighties. You cite it as a reason for this kind of behaviour.

Those of us who have lived through many decades can look back and see the eighties as the defining decade.I remember Thatcher saying that a 40 year old man waiting at a bus stop was a failure because he didn't have a car.It was this kind of attitude that made powerless people feel bad about themselves and look to kick those weaker than themselves. In this case a 94 year old woman.Sorry Warky it was Thatch wot dun it!
