counterstrike on the pc was great in its day but i was really hooked on the original unreal tournament playing online with a 56k modem .....lagtastic
You've played New Vegas? What's that like? I have an interest in the whole post-apocalyptic scenario which Fallout 3 demonstrates quite well, but as far as I'm aware, Nevada wasn't hit that badly, and it's interesting in a harrowing way, exploring the ruins of Washington DC and thinking how close that came to becoming reality during the Cold War. Admittedly, it is quite depressing and it would be nice to see some sign of civilization coping, if not thriving. But I conversely as already mentioned, I do find the whole post-apocalyptic scenario interesting, and I feel that aspect of it is limited in New Vegas. Is it?
I absolutely loved Fable TLC, Fable II was great. Number 3 was disappointing though.

The Vegas map is slightly more civilised than the DC map, but is still mainly wasteland. The main difference is that there are now factions developing and fighting over the land, and they are loosely based on previous empires which they have seemingly learnt about through reading the few history books which survived the nuclear war. So there's a faction based on the Roman empire and another faction based on the *****ls and various others, but they misinterpret history in humourous ways, such as worshipping Caesar as a god and pronouncing his name totally wrong.
Probably the coolest thing about the map is that you start in a pretty desolate wasteland and eventually make your way to the New Vegas strip, which just totally contrasts the rest of the map. I'd say overall the map is more diverse than DC, and there is plenty of post-apocalyptic, anarchic wasteland remaining.
Once in a blue moon I'll still have a go at Halls of the Things, which came out for the Sinclair Spectrum [and cross platform, I think]. Brilliant game, which actually got you going on the edge of your seat, when the various Things would patrol into your zone and just open fire with endless volleys of weaponry. And all it was, was a few very well designed pixels, smooth game play and a lot of imagination.

But it does sound interesting, Joe. I may get it at some point. Even if it's made by Obsidian apparently, who ruined Neverwinter Nights 2

I think Point Lookout was the only one that was really worth getting. Hard as balls.
I was an N64 man during my youth. Zelda Ocarina of time, Goldeneye, Diddy Kong racing, Snowboard kidz, Mario 64.
I think Zelda OOT is the best game ever made for its story line, graphics etc.. Even now it still looks pretty good.

May I suggest you get a 3DS and try the new version of OOT. I couldn't believe my 3D eyes when I first started playing it.
To think that they are going to release a 3D version of Animal Crossing. I'm going to hibernate when that comes out.

In it's day, I recognize Goldeneye for the N64 as the best game ever.
Waaa-Waaa-Waawaaa *as blood drips down your opponents screen* ....Ahhh Bond. There was also a character with no trousers yet wore a top hat; which was strange.
One of the most annoying things ever done in a game, making one character slightly shorter than the others so you have to aim down to hit him.
Then again there's the monkey in Timesplitters as well.
