West african people are usually bigger and stronger than their eastern cousins so they tend to have more explosive power for sprinting. East africans you will find especially the Kenyan runners are always mostly from the Kalenjin tribe of people. They live at a higher altitude, have a very light frame and a higher amount of white blood cells to carry oxygen around their muscles better. This makes them better distance runners. Genetics.
