Not exactly hatred, I just think he won't cut it in the Premier League and for that reason hope he is sold instead of occupying wages.
If Nigel decides to bring in a midfield player of prem quality and experience then chaplows first team appearances will be very limited and he may wish to find a new club where he will play week in week out the same said for Hammond. Both players are fantastic blokes and have done there bit for the team but Nigel will want to add depth. I would love chappers to stay but we will have to wait and see
I hate this part of the season. The players have bought into the dream and a few of them simply aren't going to be included. Yes, they've been part of the dream so far, and that's great for them, but I'd hate to be told that's the end, and I'd also hate to be one who tells it. Jaidi is retiring, so nobody has to tell him anything, but just to shake his hand and wish him well. A great CB for Saints. Wouldn't mind him being 10 years younger. Fonte and Hooiveld wouldn't be playing together, unless he was injured, that's for sure. Did I hear that Saints may have offered him a coaching position..?
I'm pretty sure when we played Coventry away in the FA Cup Lambert didn't feature... Lets sell him too!
I think all of those will have a part to play and with hard work I think they can make a decent fist of it with some hard work. They're unlikely to be high on anyone's shopping list, so they are likely to stay unless we push them out (it would kill the team spirit if we did and we'd have a huge load of replacements to bring in). I can only see players out of contract, Puuncheon and maybe Chaplow leaving if there's any substance in this Rodriguez/Trippier rumour. Think we'll give Butterfield an extension as he could prove valuable in an injury crisis. He also has loads of experience.
The only players I can see leaving is Puncheon and Barnard. Jaidi will remain at the club in a coaching role, Butterfield recently signed a new contract so I think he will still be here unless an offer elsewhere comes in for him. Puncheon is a needless, overpriced waste of space and I don't want him part of the club. Barnard may leave for first team football...
Back to Chaplow and i think it's fair to say he and a lot of the squad have earned the right to stay here next season. When Cork signed last summer I thought it was curtains for Chaplow, but he proved me and i'm sure many others wrong. I think we will bring in at least one more midfielder this summer and Chaplows place in the 18 man match squad will be under pressure, but he has shown to have the right attitude for that fight. Can someone remind me what the rules are for the 25 man squad. Perhaps if we count who qualifies it will give us some idea as to who might be leaving and coming in.
I think NA will be looking for a right back - much as I like Richardson, he is injury-prone unfortunately.
I am getting very depressed at the moment, don't know if it is the weather, the withdrawal symptons or the pure negativity on this site, someone say something to cheer me up, something along the lines of we are a Premier side, and are going to bring in some wonderful players, that might cheer me up a little.
We've worked hard and with a group of honest, hard-working players we have taken this club to the next level, the Premier League. Wait and see on transfers, they can happen at any time. We'll bring in some wonderful players, and as they join us on the bus we look to our next journey. Together As One! Any good?
Chaplow works his socks off for the team, but he is not premier league quality I'm afraid. He lacks vision, passing ability, skill and an eye for goal. Good championship player.
One thing that Chappers brings to the Changing room is an outrageous sense of fun, I still reckon he could be a squad member providing he can get fit, too many niggles have wrecked his season, but I still think he has plenty to offer, at least until the reinforcements have arrived and settled down.
Sorry mate, only bad news on here! And JakeW: Stop turning every thread (I have read) into a barrage of Chaplow slagging off. Come on man. He's been excellent for us this season and without him it may have been a different story! Cheer up.
Butterfield will stay, I am highly confident of that! He seems to be the joker of the squad, along with a few others! He is perfect for boosting morale, which is the main reason we have been successful! And as RLGB has stated, he recently was rewarded with a new contract!
