The boys did us proud today I thought. Maybe showed a little too much respect first half but maybe having gower for britts upset our rythem a little bit.
Second half and with Leon back in the team we looked a different animal, gylfi didn't add to his value but played some nice balls in to DG who yet again looked a bit flat footed when he needed to create himself half a yard.

Man of the match for me was Joe Allen who would not look out of place in man utds midfield, gylfi shows his lack of pace against the best teams which probably means he is ours to lose in the transfer market.

Ash was back to his solid best today but overall each player made me proud.

I hope this puts to bed the fitness issues that some think we have,we run for 90 mins and were still there fighting at the end, great effort by all concerned.

I think Liverpool at home will be a cracker, and I think we will win! It has been a massive effort from the boys this season and I'm so proud of them for representing us with total class and putting our city on the goo el football map.

Gutsy performance today and proud to be a jack!

    The pride of wales ;)

Glad to say i was way of the mark with the score,But only to concede three goals over two games against utd is a splendid effort by the boys and they should be proud of themselves.

I thought our fans were magnificant today from start to finish and should also be congratulated for the support they gave the team.

Agree with most of that. Not sure about the fitness thing as we do fade a bit in the final quarter of games generally. Allen played well today. Good to see Williams has pulled his socks up! Good performance from him.

I've posted elsewhere that Gower was really poor and didn't stick to Scholes for the first goal. He was generally lunging in and sliding around too. Britton made a massive difference when he came on, breaking play up and distributing the ball well as always.

We should probably have lost by about four goals but that would have been harsh imo. 10th is possible theoretically but 12th is an achievement in itself.

Pretty much how I see it Norway, Joe Allen was my MOTM, and I'm glad Britton was brought on second half, but we could have taken a point today had Dyer and Graham taken their chances, but you are right, when you say "DG who yet again looked a bit flat footed when he needed to create himself half a yard" and that is an issue which we need to address for next season, we need another quality striker to challenge Danny boy for his starting position, and as I have said all season, Graham is no Borini!!.....................<cheers>

by and large we put in a good shift, but it has to be said they didn't have their shooting boots on today, but not overawed or over run and we had a few chances ourselves

Joe for me was our MOTM, Ash put in a real good shift, and about time too.

Perhaps we did show Man U too much respect first half, they were two poor goals to concede and really from our own mistakes. Gower was poor, I did think this was a game made for him, but he proved me wrong. When Leon can on we looked a much more settled team.

Yes Man U could have had more, but if our finishing was better we may have nicked a goal or two. I was disappointed late on when Danny shot straight at the keeper, when Moore was calling for it with the goals begging.

Not going to be too harsh on the lads, but it was a gutsy display. Our fans there, were outstanding again. <applause>

Maybe, but a bit more guile in front of goal by us and utd would have creaked IMO . Britts made a big difference and I notice man utd needed to change things to counter this.

I'm confident that Rodgers knows the areas we need to improve in, it will perhaps come down to money but our profile as club now makes it possible for the Marcus senna s of this world to WANT to play here, which can't be bad ;)

Dragon you should stop comparing players we don't have, Borini is no Rooney either! We have Graham not Borini so must work with what we have, it's down to the distribution the guy is getting as well as anything else, and I hope that will be sorted on the close season.

Why keep on about Borini? He's long gone and was playing for us at a lower level! A level at which Graham scored 28 goals last season winning the Championship's Golden Boot. If you're making that comparison (and you shouldn't be) then DG is actually the better player.

I think Danny Graham has done more than a decent job this season,Cant be easy playing the role of a lone striker in one of the toughest league's in the world.

Borini is the type of player that would be perfect. I don't see DG offer anything to shake off his man, Moore did a piece of skill that totally out foxed evra and he was away, unfortunately it was 40 yards from goal! That's why I rate Moore, he can create a piece of skill when marked tight.

DG needs to be spoon fed a bit more but make no mistake he is still a great asset for us, he is at his best when he doesn't have time to think, just finishes.

DG would have learnt slot from this season though and will get better. Borini is just class and it's hard to find this type of player on the cheap

I don't need to qualify the comparison with Borini Valley (Or should I call you Jager?), those with intelligence will see where I'm coming from, I'm not here to convince you of anything, but Graham is no Borini, end of!............. <ok>

Unfortunately Moore flatters to deceive. Nick little trick - whop-dee-do. He later fell over and lost possession. <doh>

I'm more than happy with Graham and I don't think Moore is that great even though he's done alright when he's come on, as has Lita to be fair. Man City was the one game where he proved a game-changer but other than that you wouldn't have confidence that things would change by bringing him on.

Phill - you are starting to sound like Dai. Why has someone who disagrees got less intelligence? If you want to go that way it's not that bright making comparisons with players long gone who played a handful of games in a lower division! <laugh>

[PS: Even though we all loved fab Fab]

Graham will start a majority of games at the lone striker position next season & deserve them . The most expensive buys over the summer will be in the midfield & defense IMO .

<doh> has Borini really played at this level ? How can you compare like for like when he has not had the games in this league ? Graham has done a job here and scored 11 on a debut season, that is an okay tally for a player that cost £3.5m. Borini is worth 3 times that by some reports so if you are comparing them you will see that he's had a similar goal ratio as graham for Roma

It's not so much the player but the type of player.

A burst of pace in the box and a touch and shot makes a big difference, borini won us a penalty in the playoff just by being half a yard quicker, it creates major problems for defenders if they know the striker can out run them and shoot on site . DG is a bit pondorous at times and becomes easy meat for defenders, if we had a player who moved centre halfs around the field for 60 mins then brought on DG we would reep the rewards!

All Ifs,buts and maybes I know but a player like borini just out works his defenders and that forces them into mistakes, he created the rewards for Sinclair by playing like this, wasn't bad in front of goal either.

I'm sure there is a similar type player out there on the cheap

Isn't he just Knackered, other than Graham all our other strikers are poor, (Except Dobbie) and we have no one to challenge Graham, and that's just not good at this level!................. <ok>
