That long grueling wait for the first game of a new season. Yes we have the Euro's and the Olympics but for me it just does not hit the spot in the same way as when my beloved Southampton F.C are playing. I will watch the Euro's as I will be looking at a few unpolished potential diamonds that we could maybe pick up without to much expense whilst also cheering on England to another no doubt disappointing campaign probably ending losing on penalties in the first game after the group stages. Do I go on holiday to get away from it for a bit? Or do I spare every single penny I get on going towards a season ticket for the new season?. There is no competition this year round the holiday can wait, The wasting of money going to over priced bars to watch a England side with no passion can be skipped. I have seen a real side this season a side hungry and eager to prove themselves a side who never stopped believing even when we as fans sometimes were ready to throw the towell in. It's the Southampton way. Can we skip the summer just this once please?.
I'm just enjoying the lull before the storm. Isn't it nice not to be worried? Won't we enjoy looking at the play offs? I've got two holidays before the season resumes and they will be all the sweeter this year.
Malta in a couple of weeks and Lisbon in July for my birthday. I have two holidaying friends and I am forced to go with both of them each year...life's hard sometimes
Very nice indeed! I am currently trying to find a new place to rent and get my season ticket again. My holiday memories will be of Cyprus a year ago lol
Had a great holiday in Cyprus a few years back, but suspect my holiday was a little different from yours
I don't know about Malta but Lisbon is a lovely city to visit. Whatever you do you must jump on a train tyo Sintra and visit the Palcio de Pena. A good place to eat midday or for afternoon tea is their equivalent of our John Lewis chain El Court Ingles. Also ride the old trams they are great fun. The three day travel cards for the trams, metro and buses are great value. The Castelo de Sao Jorge provides a great view across the city and helps you to get your bearings. I enjoyed Lisbon and I hope you do. For me it is France in May and then Turkey in June and then who knows where in September but I shall not arrange anything until the fixture list is published
I'm off to Tenerife in June and USA in July. That should help eat up the time before next season starts.
I have a very demanding job so the weeks generally fly by, but you should not let a football club dictate your life. Go on holiday, have a tear up and have your way with the unreserved English ladies. Then there's the question of your weekends, during the summer I play cricket and also play more tennis and golf. There's loads to do, plus the summer is the best time of the year, all the ladies look lovely... None so much as my lovely lady though.
Sod the English ladies if I was to go anywhere I would chose Ukraine or Lativa this time round they have some mindboggling babes that you only see in model magazines and their gagging for some English

Really? Not done conducive research have you? Ukraine has the highest HIV rate in Europe. Latvia doesn't have so much of a problem, however from my experiences, they hate the English so you have your work cut out. English girls on holiday are the easiest to have a little bit of hip action with. They leave their dignity in the UK and indulge in alcohol fueled sex for a week, or two. I have experience of several foreign girls, none of them were 'easy', particularly the European girls. From my travels I've encountered French, Austrian, Swiss, Lithuanian, Belgian, Dutch and Danish off the top of my head (from Europe). None of these were 'easy' It took a fair bit of work. Very hard to just go up to one in a bar and end up with her that night.
I find it very easy to chat to young ladies of any nationality as they don't see me as a threat as they don't think my primary motive is to get them into bed. They are of course quite correct but they would have been wrong 55 years ago.
I totally agree!! Mine & my girlfriends birthday are in July and we love travelling so we are going to California for 3 weeks Couldn't really wait until July tho and booked it for mid May, hell of a lot cheaper Can't wait to drive my Convertible hire car!
