It was mentioned a few matches back that we hadn't scored from a free kick for like 15 months, don't you find it funny that vdv, bale or modric let walker have a go from the free kick and finally we score. Well done Kyle for stepping up just shows how much he has come on this season
 
A great goal and perfectly flighted kick from a player who seems to be going from strength to strength. I think everyone associated with Spurs, be it us fans, or the coaching staff, cannot fail to be excited with this guy's potential.
 
Watch the slow mo, perfect technique, sidefooted from that distance....watch and observe Mr. Modric, you don't need to put your laces through it, even from there.

beautiful tekkers ....but the fact it took so long reminds me of sunday park football..when for match upon match the lad with the hardest kick,biggest gob,popularity would always be at the free kicks,penalties,corners everything for glory..when there were loadsa other players who just wouldnt get that damn ball to try anything themselves...one for the underdogs..well done Kyle and get a grip Modric..shoots like his foot will drop off f he tries any harder!
 
Apparently when Kyle first asked for it vdv said no then vdv changed his mind I didn't see that but that's what my dad said happened. If vdv did then fair play for letting him have a crack at it.
 
Incredible goal, one that I can't quite work out. I played a lot of football when i was younger, but i have just never grasped how Beckham, Carlos and now KW, manage to get that much swerve on a ball. its incredible.


the highlight for me is David Dunn. he defines "FFS". - says it all really! <laugh>
 
I went berserk when that went in. Jumped up on my seat and everything. Everyone around me, like myself just couldn't believe it, we all were expecting a Kaboul rocket that'll hit row 50 or a Vdv into the wall! Amazing strike.

When I got home, couldn't stop watching it on footytube. Best bit was Dunn and Pedersen's faces, they were like "What the f*ck just happened!" <laugh>
 
I was expecting Walker to run over the ball and van der Vaart to hit it and I think Robinson was, too.
He'd have done very well to get near to it anyway, but I don't think he was totally prepared.
 
This is another reason, for me, why Harry is not the answer for us, going forward. How is it that he didn't know that Walker had this in him? Players don't suddenly discover that they have the ability to strike a ball like that; it takes hours of ceaseless practice, not to mention an abundance of confidence to kick a ball off target by such a degree, knowing that it will bend in. This is especially so, given how dismal we've been at set-pieces. Harry should have been on the training ground trying to get to the bottom of what has been going wrong, and he should have worked out for himself that VdV (who must have a clause in his contract allowing him to hog the ball in free-kick situations) simply isn't up to the task; and he should have gone through our entire squad, especially our youngsters who he would not have previously tested (ie. due to his non-existent youth encouragement policy), to find out if any of our players had the ability to do what Walker did on Sunday.

Yet another shining example of Harry's cluelessness and/or his indifference.
 
Long distance shots in general were never Robbo's forte. Time after time they flew or even bobbled past him as his feet got stuck in a mischievous type of invisible quicksand.

Not to take anything from Walker, any Prem keeper is unlikely to save that. More please, young Kyle <ok>
 
To be fair, though, if Robbo had saved Walker's free-kick, it would undoubtedly have won Save Of The Season.
 
A bit harsh Hiag, every single player is capable of one wonder strike, repeating it is another matter altogether, I wouldn't suggest he can do this every time just yet...I hope so though! :)
