You think Man U and Chelsea are more your level then <laugh>
I think this tainted title has gone to your head a bit!!

TC we pump your ****ey club every season, **** knows how you lot are still in the Championship.

You're one of the worst wums on here <doh>

They were good players in a struggling side.

What is it you are trying to say? The SPL is **** because it develops good players or that the SPL is good because it develops good players?

you made the original point as if to agree with the point that spl rejects come to the premiership, when in fact wigan signed two promising young players from a team with what i admit is a decent academy and made them into premier league players themselves

we could discuss the likes of kris boyd leaving the spl champions rangers for an average championship team if you like

The point was entirely independent. Neither McCarthy or McArthur played with Celtic or Rangers. Both were outstanding prospects developing their skills outside the big one (and smaller second one). They moved to a Premier league club and don't look out of place.

Wigan got two gems. That is all I was saying.

Boyd is ****.

all i meant was that those two players have ended up at a level where they would definitely be in the starting 11 for the old firm if they were playing for either now, but if they'd stayed at hamilton or even joined an old firm side instead of wigan, they wouldn't have reached the same standard

does that make sense?

I understand what you are saying.

I just disagree with you.

I think you'd struggle to find a Celtic fan who who would have McArthur in the team ahead of any of our midfielders.
McCarthy is very highly rated. He's still very young. I don't think he'd automatically get in our side.

Celtic is a higher standard than Wigan. There are greater pressures and greater expectations and better players.

Wigan are a far far better team than Celtic - Portsmouth are far superior to Celtic and they will be in League 1 next season. You should get those rose-tinted glasses off and watch a few League 1 games - you'd appreciate just how far behind you are then <ok>

of the teams currently in the premier league, celtic would probably beat blackburn or wolves but get beaten by everybody else. rangers would probably manage to beat some of the mid-table championship sides

I never said that ...

<doh>

Top EPL clubs laugh at the SPL, that I can understand but Millwall fans <laugh>

Hearts/Dundee United/Motherwell would beat Millwall!

Celtic and Rangers (of season 2011/2012) would hold there own in the bottom half of the EPL (Villa/Swansea/Norwich etc) and that's without the vast EPL millions...

Wigan is full of players we were in a position to buy and didn't want - even Shaun Maloney wasn't getting in the first team which is why he was sold. Southampton just got promoted with two Celtic rejects in their first team, apparently Hooiveld was one of their best players too.

The simple fact is that with 60m turnover every season on paper we can afford a squad which would be good enough not to get relegated from the PL. Of course teams who spend more than 60m every year do get relegated, such as Newcastle did - but we'd probably be ok with our current squad and we'd instantly have the same turnover as the likes of Spurs with a £35m tv deal.

Another tedious borefest from Medro, which has been hijacked by tedious bores to yet again argue the same auld pish about the same auld pish.

Rangers would have finished bottom and Celtic 1 place ahead of them. You would have both been relegated from the Chapionship too.
Commons and Hooper would not get a look in at most Championship teams <ok>

Hearts, Dundee and Motherwell would get trounced by Millwall (as would Celtic and Rangers)
