So in the absence of the skates who are our nearest main rivals next season and who will we love to hate the most?

    QPR
    Fulham
    Reading
    Chelsea

Personally I have a massive dislike for QPR. Think it goes back to artificial pitch days. Views?

Man United. No question. If we beat them it'd make it all worthwhile. Don't really have any 'hatred' for anyone else. I do dislike QPR a bit though.

Reading, not because I dislike them, but we have a point to prove like we did with Brighton this year. Brighton, who? Every team is just 3 points to Southampton...we will need to be clinical next year...no letting points slip as we have a few times this season.

I like Reading and if I could afford it I would watch both them and Saints.

I also have friends and family who live in Reading and I visit regularly.

They cannot be our rivals for they are too nice and are a decent well run club with great fans. They are like us for goodness sake.

I would never have admitted that or said that about a certain club that has disappeared in the trail of our dust.

To be our rivals a football club needs to be run by a bunch of shisters, supported by a handful of foul mouthed idiots with an inflated sense of their own importance who watch football from a galvanised shed. The only club that I know that fits that bill is in some obscure football league somewhere and is no longer a concern of ours.

Any way who needs rivals? We are the real deal.

God is in his heaven, natural order has been restored and all is right in the world.

Speaking of rivals those one time rivals of ours had the final nails driven into their coffin by none other than Dexter Blackstock.

Give that boy a gold star.

Reading will probably be the nearest thing we have to rivals, although there doesnt, and shouldnt be any animosity between the two clubs.
Talking of rivals, the poor old Skates are getting a bit touchy,i went on their site to comment on Minging's latest ramblings about us bottling it, and have had my reply pulled, and been barred from going on there.:emoticon-0140-rofl:

Is it because so many people support them who have nothing to do with Manchester? Take a walk around Fareham and you'll see numerous people wearing Manure and Chav shirts, quite a number of Pompey ones but precious few Southampton. What does it take for some people not to support an attractive Premiership team that is local??

How many Pompey shirts do you see in Eastleigh or Romsey. Fareham is enemy territory.

Actually, I think you might just have described West Ham.

Spurs.... I F*****g hate spurs. They were no better than us for years but always thought they were bigger. Kept pinching our players too (Deano for example) but didn't do very much. Yet they think they have a god given right to win the league and they are part of the Murdoch Football Mafia.

And would dearly love Nigel to come out on top of "my writing's like a 5 year olds" 'Arry...

What's with the hatred of Man Utd? They play nice football and are the only thing standing in the way of oil-rich tycoons ruining the game.

I think it's just the widespread support they attract in places like Basingstoke, Andover, etc, that makes people resent them. Personally I think their manager is a legend, most of their fans are alright (the ones from around Manchester I mean), and best of all we have a rich history of stuffing them.

Well they're massive aren't they. They have millions of fans in China and India. I fail to see why people find that annoying, but for some reason it's fine that half of this country seems to support Barcelona.
