We thought of doing that Hornette - as I have 5 kids dotted about England we though of having a place in England and a small "get away from it all" in France

I have 4 dotted about England and that is how it started.

Today they come here to see us.

I can usually find a job for them to do.

Oh to be 18 again.:emoticon-0120-doh:

The second world war was still in progress when I was born, but I am too young to remember it. <laugh>

I must say that I am surprised that the subject of the homeless Sarries has not appeared here yet.

Their new accommodation will not come before the planners before the summer, so they are looking to rent some space.

Serve them right. Their attitude to the football club was nothing short of disgraceful.

Just because you are only 24 there is no need to start being agist - but I was 15 when we won the World Cup :)

That's right M Frenchie...there's a town just up the road about 10k away which is very pretty, but i'm so old i can't remember the name of it lol. i was almost 4 the year England won the world cup...though i still find it hard to believe i'm nearly 50, i certainly don't feel it! i think i'd skip being 18 again, but 24 was a great age to be :)

i hope England win the world cup atleast once in my lifetime, lol also a new stadium and would love us in the premier league for atleast 1 season, all would be great but i doubt England will win the world cup lol

OFH - Selling your invoice book or factoring is very common, many companies do it and for football clubs it makes some sense. Company that I work for, which is a very large US company, usually do it last quarter of the year and get a big push on cash - looks good to Wall Street :undecided:

Problem with football clubs is that they get a big chunk of revenue up front and use it up, then try and rely on their match day revenue to survive...:emoticon-0107-sweat

I was 8 when England won the world cup...:p

Millens - I hope you get your wishes - although be a bit more greedy and hope for more than one season in the Prem - one season brings a lot of financial problems

w_y , I have come across it in the past when I was in business and it did ensure that my bills were paid usually.

Tomorrow being Friday, the WO should have some earth shattering news for us about the football club. They always seem to save it up to meet their deadline, so any guesses as to what it will be this time?

I watched England win the World Cup on a small ancient black and white telly. I think there was something wrong with the horizontal hold as England were definitely playing downhill in the second half...either that or someone had spiked the Watneys Party Seven.

As ever I join these conversations late. One of the great things about this place (not606) is that I can talk with people who are old enough to remember the days of Furphy, the cinder terracing at the Vic, etc, but there are also people who are young enough to communicate the excitement of newness for things that I have seen before. I find that refreshing. I can't contribute much to the debates on the current side but it is good to hear what is happening.

As for age and lifestyle changes, it is good to hear of other people's choices, destinations. I too got tired of the rat race of London and was very close to buying a place in France. I got gazumped by another Pom. Ended up in NZ where my lifestyle changed in ways that I could never imagined so now at a way too old an age I am married with a mortgage and two very young children. I will have to work full time into my 70s, which was not what I anticipated. Good job I have a job I love and a family tradition of working till you drop in your 80s. I wouldn't change it for anything. My six month old daughter has just smiled at me and the world could not be a better place.

evening all

I've made a comment on the Sarries situation on the old (real?) 606

I vote for either or both off rip off rates on a game by game basis - potentially letting them play one week, then not the next ho ho ho, and a public grovelling apology

<redwine> / <attachment1534> please
