A warrant for his arrest has been issued for failing to appear in court for 2 speeding offences, according to bbc news
He still has some way to go before surpassing Kevin Prince Boatang, who reached double figures in motoring offences while he was at Spurs.
Apparently it's been withdrawn and the matter is with his lawyer, as Pienaar was supposedly unaware that he'd even been issued with any notices. Allegedly.
Apparently there's also an outstanding warrant issued for him down here - for not appearing on the pitch for us!! (and before you say it, I am not having a dig at Pienaar - another example of buying a player that either wasnt going to suit our 'system' or playing him in roles that were not his strength. Could have done with him in the squad right now.....)
Whether you rate Pienaar or not, it's a pity some of our current first teamers can't show even half the enthusiasm for playing that Pienaar is currently showing for Everton.
Pienaar was never given any sort of chance for us. Injuries may have scuppered some of his opportunities, but I always got the feeling that he was a Levy buy that Redknapp didn't fancy, for whatever reason. Good value for money, especially in January, so the chairman couldn't pass it up.
sounds like me with eBay...I've bought so much ****e...just in case...cos it's cheap! Then sold it unused ... for a loss...
Rumour has it he didn't mix very well PNP. Someone on JA606 posted a copy of one of his tweets and he was saying he found our players cliquey and difficult to get to know and he was homesick for Merseyside (!). Must say, I was delighted when we signed him as I don't think he ever had a bad game at WHL whe playing for Everton.
That's a bit strange SC, as I thought that our squad seemed relatively inclusive. Didn't Pienaar already know van der Vaart from their time together at Ajax, too? Odd that he didn't fit in.
I am sure our players are a decent bunch PNP, it's just somethig that has stuck in my memory from seeing this alleged tweet of his posted on JA606 a few months ago.
It'll be interesting to see whether he plays more often under Moyes next season, one way or the other...
The situation with Pienaar frustates me. Along with Corluka, his lack of playing time led to him leaving on loan - which makes me wonder who sanctioned the deals. Admittedly Pienaar appeared to be some sort of bargaining chip in bringing in Saha, but had he been rotated into the squad (as most other teams do) him and Corluka wouldn't have been so desperate to leave - hence allowing them to play when the inevitable blip came (they would be fit due to being rotated). A major flaw of Harry imo.
