Someone asked on the Liverpool board, what's best way to get hold of a ticket as he won't get it through the club. It took all my willpower not to tell him to rob a kid on the way like they usually do![]()
NBA star to release Liverpool trainers, fans annoyed
Basketball superstar LeBron James is a minority owner of Liverpool FC so he has decided to honour them by releasing a "Liverpool edition" pair of trainers.
A nice gesture for sure, but the design has already angered Liverpool fans due to key mistakes on the shoe.
As a story on the official website of Liverpool owners New England Sports Ventures says: "The shoe features the signature LFC red on the outsole and 18 league championship trophies on the bottom."
However, the trophy used to represent the club's league triumphs appears to be modelled on the Premier League trophy â a trophy that the club has never won.
Instead, all of Liverpool's 18 triumphs came before 1993 when the trophy design was changed.
The trainer also cannot use the official Liverpool crest as they are made by Nike and the Reds official suppliers (currently Adidas, soon to be Warrior Sports) so it instead uses an emblem that is "directly inspired by the Liverpool crest"
"Sneakerheads and Liverpool fans are buzzing at LeBron James' new shoe. The LeBron 9 Low 'Liverpool Edition' will bring the LFC brand to the hardwoods and streets around the world," said the NESN story.
"James is both a minority owner and avid fan of Liverpool FC. It is only fitting that the NBA superstar married an old passion (basketball shoes) with a newer one (historic English soccer club)."
However, despite NESN's enthusiastic release, fans quickly left comments on the story, blasting the design.
"Get rid of those designs immediately. IF YOU ARE GOING TO PORTRAY A LIVERBIRD - PLEASE ENSURE THE DESIGN IS 100% Correct," said Faith Fulcher.
"Oh PLEASE someone correct this quick... LeBron really doesn't need this kind of egg on his face...," said Tyler Yaeger
The website said: "No release date has been set, but there are rumours it will drop on May 5 - the day Liverpool plays Chelsea in the FA Cup final."
....love the row over using the crest....looks like they're sponsored by Vauxhall!

Chelsea won't win Champions League, says Tottenham's Harry Redknapp
• Spurs' manager wants rivals distracted from Premier League
• He believes Blues would lose final even if they beat Barça

Harry Redknapp has written off Chelsea's chances of winning the Champions League but says he hopes Roberto Di Matteo's men reach the final because that would distract them from the Premier League and improve Tottenham Hotspur's prospects of competing in Europe's elite tournament next season.
Chelsea's 1-0 first-leg victory over Barcelona this week has raised the possibility that whoever finishes fourth in the Premier League, which is the position that Tottenham currently occupy, may not secure a Champions League spot.
That is because, if Chelsea were to be crowned European champions, they would automatically gain entry to next season's tournament as holders and take up one of England's four available qualification places. Fourth spot, in that instance, would then be good enough only for a berth in the Europa League.
Redknapp, however, believes that scenario will not arise as Chelsea, despite having the ability to knock out Barcelona, would lose to either Real Madrid or Bayern Munich in the final.
What is more, having to contest such a final would, said Redknapp, hinder Chelsea's attempt to overtake Tottenham in the Premier League, where they currently sit in sixth place, two points behind both Spurs and Newcastle United.
"I'll be rooting for Chelsea [against Barcelona]," said Redknapp. "From our point of view, if we keep Chelsea in it and they've got a Champions League final to prepare for as well [as the Premier League and the FA Cup final], then they've got a lot on their plate, haven't they?
"I think they can beat Barcelona. They were fortunate the other night and defended with their lives but you wouldn't put it past Chelsea scoring in Barcelona. Barça are open to concede. If Chelsea get an away goal, then it's game on. But if they beat Barcelona, I still couldn't see them beating Real Madrid.
"I think Real will beat Bayern but even if they [Chelsea] were to play Bayern, that would be a difficult game with Bayern being at home in Munich. So I still couldn't see them winning it. But I'd like them to be in it because they'd surely have to have one eye on the final."
Redknapp, then, still expects a top-four finish to equate to Champions League qualification and suggested that for Spurs to achieve that would be to upset the odds because "I wouldn't say we've got a stronger squad than Chelsea – no way – or a stronger squad than Liverpool". Redknapp believes four victories from Spurs' remaining five matches, starting at Queens Park Rangers on Saturday, will be enough for his team to fulfil their ambitions.
Meeting that target, however, will entail shaking off the poor form that has resulted in them winning only one of their last eight league matches and enduring an embarrassing 5-1 defeat by Chelsea in last Sunday's FA Cup semi-final.
when he goes i hope he takes the coaches with him, they are a waste of space and just as much to blame

You have to say Mr Mourinho would do everything to prevent Mr. Abramovich getting his dream. You could also say Chelsea are following a similar pattern to when Liverpool won it...against the odds.
long way to go for a night out-scandanavia
So we can expect their captain to dive for a penalty to get the score to 2-3, a goalkeeper to blatantly cheat during a penalty shootout, and fans without valid tickets to force their way into the stadium?
Oh, not that similar to when Liverpool reached the final in 2005...

Dunno, you can speculate all you like, all I said was 'against the odds'...as hard as you're trying, its impossible to disagree with, but if you insist carry on. I'm sure if I said the sky was blue you'd argue its green.![]()
