This is how im looking at it. if i was gonna pick one team to play at home it would be a relegated Coventry. Cant really complain

Ha, that was never a pen.

Don't know why anyone's surprised by this result though, West Ham are a strong side.

But I also think people don't realise just how bad Coventry are. We'll beat them, no problem.

Two people in particular aside, I think we do realise just how bad Coventry are. I have no fear or doubts at all.

the funny thing about it is I would of scrapped for every point I hate losing , so I think I would be one for this , the point is are they ?

No offence, but the way you post on here, I find that a little hard to believe.

West Ham played well tonight under pressure, albiet against an abject Leicester City side, so good luck to them.

Saints can now go and win promotion by their own endeavours, which is well doable. However football being football and Saints being Saints it could be a roller coaster ride on saturday !

Great stuff !!

Kicking an opponent in any situation with a mistimed challenge is a foul. It is dangerous play to be trying acrobatic clearances or volleys with the ball at head height to start with when someone is obviously going to challenge with their head. So making contact makes it a blatant penalty.

Hi Tom, do you think, assume or know?

I think they mentioned it on Radio 5.

I was impressed by the comments of the pundits on 5 Live tonight. They were all in praise of Saints, saying how brilliant a season we have had.

They didn't need to say anything. It wouldn't have cost them anything, but they felt they had to put it on record.

By my calcs, if we draw 0-0, WH will have to win 3-0.

If we draw 1-1, WH will have to win 4-1 (or 4-0).

If we draw 2-2, WH will have to win 5-2 (or 5-1, or 5-0, or 4-0)

etc etc

Got this off the BBC website:

If Southampton draw on the final day and West Ham win but score four more goals than the Saints, their records would be identical. This would bring about a special play-off, in which the winner would secure promotion while the loser would enter the regular play-offs.

All to play for, I would've prefered another goal or 2 as I can't see you losing to Coventry, but if West Ham get a couple of early goals and you're still 0-0, well, the crowd will get the poopers.

To be honest if Davis gets sent off in the 3rd minute after a giving away a penalty which is scored, I still think you'll win comfortably.

How does that sound?<laugh>

Depends if we have sub keeper on the bench <somersault>

But in all seriousness, I know it should be alright on the night and I appreciate your positive support! But I will nonetheless be a nervous wreck for the rest of the week and expecting the worse even if we are wining 2-0 with 10 minutes left...I can't help it, no matter how positive I try to be, no matter how good the stats look, I will be hiding behind my sofa next Saturday with a distinct lack of nails on my fingers, a squeaky bum and a severely pissed off girlfriend!!
