Those little Dash-8 planes are good fun in the wind. Much more exciting than the smooth passage of a big jet. The most exciting flight I've been on was in a little cessna 172, climbing up to 10,000ft and then jumping out of a hole in the side of it

I used to fly into Heathrow from Liege (about 20 years ago) , in one of the 14 seaters - behind and in front of a 747. Scary - dropping out of the sky to get down quick...... even worse - often a girl pilot...
Landing at London City Airport is the worst...and taking off...they literally go at around 60 degrees...

My ticket was a parachute - I did a sydive for charity. There is something counter intuitive about sitting on the edge of a 10,000ft drop and then jumping off. Great fun though - around 20 seconds of freefall - absolutely amazing experience
I have around 60 hours of flying experience and my brother has a fully qualified PPL We used to fly from Biggin Hill to Bristol and often had to 'duck in' quick in front of the jets, otherwise we'd have to fly right around the back of them to get out of the jet stream wake. I remember flying above Bristol airport and talking to air traffic, they told us that there was an an air italia 767 on final approach, but we could land in front of it if we went NOW. I will never forget my brother taking the controls and literally throwing the plane down, full wingtip turn, full flaps and then full throttle for a quick burst to get on the tarmac quick. I remember seeing the nosecone of the 767 out of the back window as we touched down and telling my brother to keep the throttle up- to his credit it was a very skilfull landing, but not really one I'd like to do again.
****ing class I am not the best in an aeroplane and would have probably jumped out there and then, rather than suffer the impending death by fireball scenario that would have been running through my mind at that point.
