The BBC have made me want to stick up for Arsenal, to a point, with their report on the match, which begins with this sentence: "Arsenal's hopes of a top-four finish remain in the balance after they were held to a goalless by an under-strength Chelsea side at Emirates Stadium. " Arsenal are in third, seven points ahead of sixth-placed Chelsea - there's one team who played in that match whose top-four hopes are in the balance, and it's the team who have less points than the teams in first, second, third, fourth and fifth. Moronic.
I confess, I can't see the Toon losing today. The best I'm expecting is a draw, but the Toon have got to believe that they can get 3rd, and go for this one.
they talking now as if at the end of the day Newcastle will have won a cl place, even though there will still be games to play
They all do it! they decide in advance what team they want to talk about and then salt & shake the facts to suit their preferred story.
Arsenal didn't do enough to win that match, and seemed to have settled for the draw, from the kick-off.
I thought Chamberlain was a bit **** today. Not unexpected for a youngster to struggle in a big game but to hear some of your fans talk about him you'd think he'd he was the best winger in the league.
Oxo will go exactly the same way as Walnut. Whinger seems to have an amazing talent for destroying English youngsters.
Goons look a bit strung out now, RVP not scoring, thinking Wilshere was coming back but breaking down again, and now Arteta out, plus Walcott looking grim, that's given them something to think about...and everyone else!
Cisse again, looking like he might be a good find. I haven't dismissed the 'one spell wonder' theory yet though. No doubt a few excitables will want us to sign him tomorrow...like that would happen anyway!
Enjoying this little run of form...Win today and its 6 premier league wins on the bounce (first time since '96 under Keegan). No matter what happens after today, we can be immensely proud of our lads in Black n White!
I did not expect Newcastle to enter the equation at the beginning or even half way through the season. Not only are they a concern for us but for Arsenal and Chelsea too the latter of which they have to play. If only we can win our last matches.
We should be saying the same thing really having done the same earlier in the season, and thats the problem, because your run is now, its in the news.
Not just that, but remember they got four points from those two matches, which consisted of one of the worst ref performances of all time, as well as a match we totally dominated and nearly lost as well. I would argue we deserved all six points against Stoke this season, but such is the fine line between places in the PL.
