Would be incredible but will never ever happen. PL was asked in an interview today and stated he was "way way out of our league". Wages would be way too high even if transfer fee was affordable. Plus I'm sure he is a very sought after player with bigger clubs than ourselves after him (which I doubt we are).
 
I think if they really believed they could afford his wages and he wanted to come the club would find away of making it happen however seems but a dream. Yep the rumour mill is beginning to get up and running. Should be an interesting off season
 
I'm with gruffnuts, no chance he is way out of our league. However, as expected, lambert has hinted he may be ready to dip into the foreign market this season.

On a more serious(ish) note, there's a player in Germany called didier ya konan who plays for hannover and its said that many prem clubs are interested. With a fee of &#8364;6mil be asked, could we be in the frame?
 
Even if Dempsey wasn't being tracked by other teams, what on earth would make anyone think we could compete with Fulham's wages. Surely even the dimmest journalist could think of this all by themselves?

He'll be top four next year I reckon. You can't score all those goals and not cause a bit interest. Man united could do with a midfielder under the age of 500 so maybe he'll go there

Surgeryman the comments about "daft question" etc. I can see how you took personally, but I'm 90% positive that they were directed at the journalist who asked the question that Tipsycanary mentioned, not you. Hopefully you're not too bothered- perfectly reasonable to post something on Sky Sports website.

Everyone is happy for you to post this sort of thing, even the more ridiculous rumours like this are a good source for humour!

I wouldn't worry about it people cry on this forum when they don't like your opinion or what you decide to post and dare you suggest improving the squad in any sort of way...
 
Sorry mate, not aimed at you! It was aimed at the prune at the press conference! I must actually wonder what Lambert must have been thinking when he splurtted that out <doh>
