4/20 (otherwise known as National Morons Day) is the day where traditionally "everyone gets totally baked, man". It comes from a group of teenagers years back who would meet up at 4:20 after school to get stoned and through bands and writers became part of culture. The time, 4:20 transformed into the American style date, 4/20, April 20th, as national stoner day.

Yet another reason to be pissed off that I have coursework to do.

basically NLS wants to advertise the fact he smokes weed to make people think he is cool
 
Why do people feel the need to publicise they smoke weed? It's embarrassing. If you smoke then fair enough but don't need to brag about it, it doesn't make you any cooler.
 
It strikes me as odd that someone would get high and then come on here. Isn't this just a place we all come to when we're bored and should be working?

Typical that American culture should be second nature for today's generation. Well, as one famous adopted-from-overseas face of American culture said... Include me out..!

Some people can just take it. Look at Hunter S. Thompson. Ozzy Osbourne. Lemmy. Some brilliant people have created brilliant music thanks to drugs.

Hunter S. Thompson's work came as a direct result of drug usage, so it's a different story there, and music creation and drugs have always gone hand in hand. I think TSS is talking of a different kind of intelligence.
