Norwich are a hard working well drilled side.... Blackburn have lost 5 in a row so 2-0 to Blackburn Can someone with more time than me check all his predictions and see how many points we would have if he was correct?
haha well we would be 4th bottom on 28 pts! Thank god he never gets it right! Liverpool would have 63 haha
to be fair, i could understand him thinking blackburn might win - from the outside, we have nothing and they have everything to play for! however, 2-0? blackburn have kept just two clean sheets all season, we have scored in almost every match, they have lost five in a row, we won our last away match at spurs, we have position and extra finance to play for too... no problem with him predicting us to lose but there is literally no logic behind his score guess!
Here a table someone has done of it http://www.myfootballfacts.com/Mark_Lawrensons_Predictions_2011-12.html He has us 14 points below Wolves!!! If this would done at the start of the season you can excuse him getting it so wrong, but he gets to predict just before every match! He knows what form teams are in, which players are injured etc and still gets it so wrong. It's interesting having a look at the list of people he's predicted against on the BBC website. His average is exactly half way down the list. He is no better then actors, musicians and stars from other sports, yet he gets paid thousands to give us his views! Why?! Joe Bloggs down the pub could do the same if not better job then him!
In fairness to Lawro, upsets will always occur in football, and he can't just keep guessing that their might be one - hence on his table teams near the top have more points because he has to always guess they'd win (as we would too). What there is no excuse for is how he has some teams doing so much better/worse than reality.
I know it says swearing is allowed on here, but, there just aren't enough swear words or space to put them regarding that idiot. <restrainedilovedelia> I think we'll be pleased with a point, they wrecked us at home!! ILD OTBC
Every week he is so predictable. The top 4 or 5 always forecast to win unless they play each other in that case invariably a draw. One game every week he will say 'and after twenty minutes someone will throw the ball on to the pitch' - really funny stuff! (normally Stoke v Wolves so in that case not far off) The teams at the bottom normally forecast to lose again unless they play each other ergo draw (see above). A monkey could do that and in terms of making savings in BBC budgets I suggest that the Beeb start training one now in time for next season.
i don't really read lawro's predictions. try paul merson on sky. he too predicts defeat for us this weekend but at least he explains logically why! he doesn't sit on the fence either... http://www.skysports.com/opinion/story/0,,15205_7686777,00.html?
It's the numbers game though isn't it? He just makes these predictions based more or less on the bookies odds. It would be interesting to see where we would have ended up based on the available odds going on which result was the most likely .For tomorrow's game for Example you can get slightly better than evens for a Blackburn win with the draw or away win at just short of 3/1.So Lawro just goes with the flow. When we drew with Liverpool,Everton and Chelsea they would not have been the results the odds would suggest. Similarly away our wins would not have been predicted.Quite simply Norwich have outperformed expectations all season. As a matter of interest let's monitor Lawro's and Merson's predictions and see who comes out ahead.Merson has form in sticking other people's business into his nose.
He obviously hasn't looked at any stats. We are the highest scoring side outside of the top six, two ahead of blackburn, they have conceded more than anyone apart from wolves. We have scored more headers (15) than anyone, they've conceded the most (16). Neither of us can keep a clean sheet. It's blatantly going to be a 0-0.
Is yakubu available? If not, Only really Hoilett that offers a goal scoring threat. I expect to see a reaction following our last game, but with Blackburn fighting for their lives I can see this being a very good game.
