However, from what I heard, the stewards will be planning to STOP a pitch invasion - ****ing party poopers

I am sorry but I hate pitch invations! I can totally understand the excitment etc building up. But going up last year and promotion to the championship was ruined for me personally at that game. Being seated in Itchen we saw hardly anything of the celebrations and lifting of cup apart from some dodgy camera work. Even if people do run on the pitch. when you had ya fun, step back to the edge and let the players come out and thank the fans etc.

I hope they have more security on at the coventry game (IF we are up) to hopefully contain fans, plus I am sorry which alot (not all but alot are plastic fans) where were they on a cold, wet tuesday night against Gillingham?

Those people that ran on pitch at Pompey game were absolute plastic twats!

End of Rant!<doh>

Not really a fan of them TBH as they prevent a lap of honour, which I would prefer. Last season those who rushed on got a half decent view of proceedings, those who were elderly, disabled or had young children got to see very little. But I won't lose any sleep if it happens again, which it probably will.

I completely understand people's reservations. But when you seen scenes like at the Madejski the other day it just makes you want to get on that pitch! Can see how it would be construed as selfish though...

I'm not a fan of pitch invasions as that is what over excited children do.

I would rather see the Players do a circuit of the pitch so that all fans can show their appreciation.

However there will be the numpties who will run on the pitch and spoil it all for the majority.

That is my miserable rant over for today.

Godders, you miserable old bugger. I totally agree with you! However, I hope we don't have a repeat of the nonsense in past years with constant calls to stay off the pitch ruining the last few minutes, and that the authorities factor in a pitch invasion. It will happen, so let's get it done, clear the pitch and then bring out the team.

Burnley was a low point, but not entirely down to the Northam end ..........

I stood in the stand watching the invasion v Walsall. I watched as very early on a young child was poleaxed and looked to be in a lot of trouble. Medics spent a lot of time with him as thousands of people pushed passed. It didnt look very good.

After watching the players on the balcony for about half an hour, I decided to walk down there with my Dad and son. We got about 5 paces on to the pitch when the skies opened and the rain came down followed by 15,000 people sprinting back off the pitch.

Yes, it's not all fun and pranks. Last year had a young girl behind me in tears after a "fan" had trodden on her (and me as it happens but I'm a bit bigger) on his way to the pitch. Don't think she liked it much.

...are becoming a regular occurrence and should we go up would like to see another!

2007/08 - survival against Sheffield Utd
2008/09 - relegation against Burnley
2009/10 - a few idiots but nothing more
2010/11 - Promotion to the Championship
2011/12 - (insert prediction here)

Will post memorable videos later!

COYR!

Were you even at the game?

I won't run on pitch myself as I will be in the posh seats<laugh>, but will be so happy to see it as it means we are promoted.

I`m in the `posh` seats too - won`t stop me and son though. I`ve never been on the pitch at SMS or the Dell. It may never happen again in my lifetime, so can`t miss the chance ! COYS!

I like pitch invasions but I was a bit wazzed off last time as they kept saying stay in your seats and the players will come out for a lap. When everyone descended onto the pitch I stayed where I was and I (naively maybe) thought they'd clear everyone and let the players come out. But they didn't, meaning everyone that had ignored what we were supposed to be doing got a great view of the players and trophy and everyone who followed instruction got to see naff all.

Yeah yeah, moany old me but sorry doing things right.

This year I'll follow everyone else on to the pitch. :emoticon-0110-tongu

Did they say that last year? I didn't even hear it, I just went with the mob.

I've been on the SMS pitch alot of times as my real name is Aaron Martin.

I imagine it's pretty hard to stop a pitch invasion at Fratton Park when you can't afford stewards, but I suppose it's not a big deal since it's not like they'd fill the pitch anyway. Might as well stick everyone who pitch invades there on the bench to make up the numbers.
