Quite right, SSAS!!!!! We could be in the Big Time here! I had a dream...............
"Hello Luka"
(with apologies to Leonard Cohen, Jeff Buckley and sundry others)
I dreamt about our Chelsea match,
I hoped you’d play, and score a batch -
[‘Cos you don't really care for losing, do yer?]
I wish’d you’d score….. a fourth! a fifth!
‘Cos that would give us fans a lift
And Harry would be smiling: Hello Luka
Hello Luka, Hello Luka
Hello Luka, Hello Luka
I came to Wembley, saw the truth!
I saw the match, I saw the proof:
Your skills just didn’t get the finish due yer!
We lost out to a cheating goal,
Saw smiles from Terry, Drogba, Cole
And that is why I’m writing to yer, Luka
Hello Luka, Hello Luka
Hello Luka, Hello Luka
Tott’nham! We’ve been here before -
We know the stats, we know the score!
I never watched great football till I knew yer.
I’ve been a fan since forty-three
When I was five. And so from me
There comes this hopeful greeting: Hello Luka
Hello Luka, Hello Luka
Hello Luka, Hello Luka
This is a hopeful, calm Hello
We need you here, so please don’t go -
We rate your skills as better than Corluka!
We all cheered when you joined the Spurs
(A view with which HR concurs)
And now we need a big game from you, Luka
Hello Luka, Hello Luka
Hello Luka, Hello Luka
This Saturday it’s QPR.
So please play like the star you are:
One shot at goal and score with a bazooka!
Then you would hear me cheer all night -
I hope my dream has got this right -
And all of us are singing Hooray Luka
Hooray Luka, Hooray Luka
Hooray Luka, Hooray Luka
I don’t care if you scuff your shot
And hit it with your sock or not,
Or score with just a little toe-end fluker
It doesn't matter how it goes
To cross the goal-line (I suppose)
But score you must, and we’ll sing Hooray Luka
Hooray Luka, Hooray Luka
Hooray Luka, Hooray Luka
I did my best, I wrote these lines
I didn’t mean to waste your time:
I wrote my rhyme, I didn't come to nuke yer!
And even though it might go wrong
And QPR might be on song,
There’s nothing left to say but Hello Luka
Hello Luka, Hello Luka
Hello Luka, Hello Luka……. Etc

Thanks guys. It's great to feel appreciated (especially at my age!).
And yes, Dona (we've chatted before!) - getting on a bit is about right!
Those stairs up to the top at Wembley were a bit of a strain!
(It was easier - less crowded - coming down - there weren't many of us left at the final whistle, I'm sorry to say!)
And yes, again - I've seen some wonderful teams - and for a while this season it felt as if we were back on that level again!
And yes againagain - I've seen all this before, which makes it a tad easier to cope with!
Next year, eh?

Hello Luka, Hello Luka
Hello Luka, Hello Luka
Better predict early, I missed the Norwich match because the internet fekked up here in Sierra Leone. I expect similar this weekend, just got word that at Tonkalilli, a mine just up the road, that yesterday they shot a couple of striking drivers who were blockading the road in and out of the mine so i'm expecting the **** to kick off. Clarkson would be proud.
Anyway, back to the footie, some one has to pay for the last couple of weeks, why not QPR, lets say QPR 0 Spurs 4 VdV, JD, Ade and Sandro.
