Swindon, Torquay and Cheltenham seem to have a tough run in, whereas Crawley's is slightly easier but they have one more game. Swindon have a cup game to deal with too. Two potentially tough games on the last day for Torquay and Cheltenham as well.
it is looking like swindon, crawley shrews and play offs including torquay crewe gills oxon southend or chelt. perm any 4. shrews have a possible 27 points on offer. i expect them to net 17. 2 draws and 5 wins
Southend, Torquay and Cheltenham will affect each others position and those around with their key matches.
I'm taking it for granted we'd pick up a couple of draws, as well. So lets say 85 points-ish (I'm also thinking those teams around us will be dropping some too).
It is OK saying we have an easy run- in but we actually have to beat these sides in the lower regions of the table so any more performances like the Plymouth debacle must be avoided. I think 85 points (5 wins and 2 draws ) should be enough and it would be great if we did not have to go to Wimbledon needing anything to go up. I would not write off Torquay's chances - with their mean defence I think they have a better chance than Crawley who do tend to leak more goals. This must be our best chance of promotion over the last decade and a half - as Amy Winehouse sings 'Our day will come' and I predict our day will be April 28th when we beat Dagenham at a full Greenhouse meadow to seal promotion.
The problem with Crawley is they're fielding a different team every week, what with the amount of signings they make & that will basically go against them come May.
Swindon are trying their best to keep up with the Jones', sorry Evan's by signing new players regularly.

Who's got the best chance? Cheltenham's gold cup has been squashed and it is a five horse race to the finish. Town need five points to secure promotion if all other teams win, with goal difference keeping Torquay out. Six points guarantees it. AFC Wimbledon will have an effect on Torquay and our own results so let's hope that Wimbledon beat them and suffer against us!! Accrington also play both Shrewsbury and Crawley so let's hope that it goes our way too!
I notice that Accrington have sent back Bobby Grant (who was linked with a move to us recently) after a month's loan. As he is a decent striker that can only be good news for us. Now Crawley have their players coming back from suspensions and look to have an easier run-in than Torquay I think they will finish third. We are in such good form that we must be favourites to finish second. I think the best we can hope for is that a win against Dagenham will seal it for us - I am not sure Wimbledon are good enough at home to take any points off Torquay.
if! shrews win their last 3 and the rotties draw 1 and lose 2, we go up sa champions, probably not but it remains a possibility. fl, coys, aab, bots and ctrab
I agree Matster, on current form we should be able to beat Wimbledon away but it would be massive pressure on the lads if they need something from an away game the last game of the season so lets just hope it does not come down to that.
perhaps we might be promoted on saturday. i much prefer our final 3 to the rotties 2 away and 1 home. as gt said the other day, the shrews have done nothing yet, it is the next 3 results that count
