Reading still have to go to Birmingham away, I think they could lose so I'm hoping that it won't matter to us <ok>

Let the reading fans enjoy tonight they r not champions yet,so we might get champions medals, not sure what you get for second...we are not second/or first yet but r close:cool::cool::cool:

We'll get countless millions of pounds for finishing runners up. that'll do.... although I would much prefer countless millions of pounds and a big trophy to go in the cabinet.

If you were a Reading supporter and we pipped them for the Championship on the last day of the season, how annoyed would you be?

You win 50k for winning and 25k for second...

Plus the countless millions for getting promotion to the PL. If it is 25K prize money for coming 2nd that really does show the difference in finance between the two leagues. There is about an 800k difference place on place in the Premier League. Blackpool got 39.1M last season for getting relegated (tv included).

Link below shows the PL prize money last season.

Yeah. Just the way you said "for coming runners up" i thought you meant the runners up prize money. Not the money we'd get later for being in the premier league

My God lads, we haven't got promoted yet, let alone become champions! Games at this end of the season tend strongly to get won or lost not on which squad is better or worse but to a large extent on who NEEDS the points. In that sense Wham have a better run-in than we do, so can we all shut up and do the decent thing .... pray in silence?

Yeah was looking at the overall reward for getting promoted.

Sorry Terry IF we get promoted.

I know its not a done deal yet but even the pessimists (of which I can be one) have got to admit it would be harder to throw promotion away now than get it. West Ham have to win both games where a point could be good enough for us.

We have to play our natural game (whatever that is) We cannot afford to go down the shut out root which is what we would have done years ago.....The worst that could happen is that we would come in 3rd and have to win the play offs. Which we can, a lottery I know........So as far as I am concerned we will not go down the lottery root........COYS.......

We had a trophy for finishing in second last year, I assume the players will get medals too.

If......!!

I wonder if it's ever happened that the team gaining promotion first, as Reading have done, have then lost the title before the end of the season? Any statto's out there?

I am delighted that they have got promotion now as it will feel like job done. We are only 1 win behind them with a better GD. Stranger things have happened than a team go off the boil once they have achieved their goal. How did Brighton fare last season once they had won? Nigel won't be thinking about runners up medals, that's for sure.
